Can I submit a second Graduate Visa (PSW) application after an Administrative Review if I had Section 3C leave and met all the requirements?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with a similar Graduate Visa (PSW) situation or has experience with UK immigration law.

Here's my timeline:

  • My Student visa expired on 9 June.
  • I submitted my Graduate Visa application on 9 June, before my Student visa expired.
  • My application was therefore covered by Section 3C leave while it was being decided.
  • I had successfully completed my course, but my university notified the Home Office of my successful completion late.
  • Because of that, my Graduate Visa application was refused.
  • I am considering (or have submitted) an Administrative Review.

My main question is:

If my Administrative Review is unsuccessful, can I submit a second Graduate Visa application?

From my understanding:

  • I made my original application before my Student visa expired.
  • I had Section 3C leave while the application was pending.
  • I believe I met all the Graduate Visa requirements apart from the issue caused by the university's late notification.

So I'm wondering:

  • Has anyone successfully made a second Graduate Visa application after an Administrative Review?
  • Does Section 3C leave preserve my ability to make a fresh Graduate Visa application if the first one is refused?
  • Is there any Immigration Rule or case where someone was allowed to reapply because the university reported completion late?
  • Or does the refusal permanently end eligibility for the Graduate route, even though the original application was made in time?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone with personal experience, an immigration adviser, or a solicitor familiar with the Graduate route.

Thank you.

AR After psw refusal

Graduate Route (PSW) Refused – Administrative Review Submitted – Looking for Similar Experiences
Hi everyone,
I am looking for advice from anyone who has been through a similar situation.
My Graduate Route (PSW) application was refused because the Home Office considered that I applied before my degree was officially awarded. At the time, my Student visa was close to expiring, so I submitted my application before receiving official confirmation of my award.
I have now submitted an Administrative Review and provided supporting evidence explaining my situation. I am currently waiting for a decision.
My main concern is what to do while waiting. I understand that Administrative Reviews can take a long time, and I am unsure whether I should simply wait for the outcome or focus on finding a sponsored job as an alternative option.
Has anyone experienced a Graduate Route refusal for a similar reason? If so:
What was the outcome of your Administrative Review?
How long did the decision take?
Were you able to switch to a sponsored route while waiting?
Is there anything you would recommend based on your experience?
I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar position. Thank you for your time.
