VA LPN

I’m 57 and I’ve only been with the VA for 3 1/2 years. I recently received an inheritance and would like to retire early. Yes I have money saved up but I’m wondering if I should wait till learn 62 so that I’m not only vested, but I can get health benefits. I really don’t want to wait. Please be kind in your comments as I’m just trying to figure it out if I should work another 4.5 years and retire at 62 or I should just take the inheritance and call it good. Worried health insurance will be pricey. I’m a pact nurse.

Edward Jones: I inherited trust: why so long to get the money?

Family member died 4-30/26 in Ohio. Death certificate hand delivered to EJ office on 5/8/26. I am the only human the trust. The other recipients of this money are nonprofits. Because it’s a trust and there was no house or car to sell. What is the problem with taking so long? They keep stalling me telling me I have to have a meeting in the trust committee will be set up. My financial person says it should not take this long and I should have the money within 48 hours because there’s nothing probateable. Anyone else go through this? Any help anyone can provide to speed this process up? Estate is very sizable. Will this really take a year? Help!
