Anyone else think’s the same
The open round results are expected on 21 August, and candidates have to report and join by 31 August (11:00 AM). However, NEET PG is on 30 August. If someone waits until after the exam to report, it feels quite risky. So my question is: If we join the allotted institute anytime between 21 and 30 August, are we expected to start duties immediately, or is it generally possible to take leave until the NEET PG exam is over?
Has anyone been in a similar situation?
Last year, NEET PG was held on August 3, and the entire INI-CET counseling process, for the open round, was completed by around August 25 i think .
However, in most previous years (before 2025), the AIIMS counseling process was usually completed by the second week of August.
This year, NEET PG is scheduled for August 30. Do you think AIIMS will delay the open round counseling until after the NEET PG exam, or is it more likely to follow the usual schedule and finish by the 2nd week of August?
Also, when do Aiims classes usually begin? Do they start after the second round, or only after the open round counseling is completed?
Hey guys
If I get allotted a seat (for example, MS General Surgery at AIIMS Nagpur) in Round 1 but do not report/join and do not submit any certificates, will I still be eligible for Round 2 counselling?
Since I would not have physically joined the institute or submitted any documents, can the counselling authorities still block me from participating in further rounds? The prospectus also mentions a ₹3 lakh penalty , would that apply even if I never reported to the institute or submitted my certificates?
Hey everyone
Is anyone here doing MD Transfusion Medicine or knows someone in the field?
I wanted to know more about the branch from people who are actually exposed to it. I know it’s still considered a relatively new and upcoming branch, but I’m curious about its long-term future and career scope.
Years ago, branches like Nuclear Medicine were not very popular, but now they’ve grown massively because of PET-CT, targeted therapies, etc. Do you think Transfusion Medicine could grow in a similar way over the next 10–15 years?
I’m personally very interested in genetics, immunology, and research-oriented fields, which is why this branch caught my attention.
I wanted to ask:
1)How are the job opportunities currently?
2)What is the future scope in India?
3)Is there decent scope in GCC countries (Qatar/UAE/Saudi)?
4)Does doing it from a central institute like AIIMS/JIPMER/PGI really make a difference?**
5)Is the research exposure significantly better in central institutes compared to regular government medical colleges?
6)How is the work-life balance and day to day work practically?
Also, what about doing Transfusion Medicine from Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute, Trivandrum?. Does the institute name and research background from places like SCTIMST actually help later for academics, research, or opportunities abroad?
I know it’s not a mainstream clinical branch, but I’m trying to understand whether it has strong future potential as medicine becomes more personalized and immunology focused.
Would really appreciate honest opinions from residents, consultants, or anyone who has worked with the department.
Thanks
