If you had a friend who was in Monica’s situation where at her wedding, her new husband told everyone he was miserable and had doubts about marrying your friend, would you tell your friend to leave him or tell her to forgive and get back with him like Joan, Maya, & Lynn did?
What if the husband was also your friend? basically what would you do if your friend was Monica?

Edit* why don’t you guys answer the question lol? I didn’t intend this question to cause discussion about Monica, I wanted to know if you had a FRIEND in Monica’s situation, what would you do? I didn’t want this to be a place to talk about whether or not Monica’s actions were wrong or right. I asked if you had a FRIEND in her circumstance what would you do.

If you relate to Lynn and see yourself as a free spirit, not bound to worldly institutions, lover of people, artsy… what is your opinion on the way Lynn was written? Do you think the writers made good choices in having her try to be celibate twice, save a mentally ill person and almost marry her, having her music career basically end before she really got started (in the last episode of the series), have her be the “loser” friend, etc.? Do you think the way she was written is a disservice to people like her? or do you think her character was well written?

EDIT* I’m not sure why there are multiple responses relating Lynn being alternative/ a free spirit to her being biracial. Are you all saying that mono racial or darker skinned Black women can’t be alternative? Also I doubt everyone who responded relates to Lynn as a free spirit. I wanted answers from people who feel the same way as Lynn, who feel that animals are beautiful and should be protected, who don’t fit into the norm society creates, who has a tough time finding where they belong in the world. That’s who I wanted the responses from. I guess most who responded wanted to talk about other things.
