Older tortie suddenly spending all day in my room?

My cat Serafina (tortishell, 12, good health) has suddenly been spending increased amounts of time in my bedroom despite the fact she rarely goes in there. When I tried to encourage her to leave with food, she came downstairs, ate some, and immediately bolted back upstairs. She stared at me for a moment when my door was partially closed before pushing it open and going right back to her hiding spot behind a laundry basket? Why would she be doing this? I still think she has a few good years left. We are not in a financial situation to afford taking her to the vet.

Is Slither (2006) a zombie movie?

It features a disease(?) infecting large amounts of people, turning them mindless and carnivorous. However, its origin is alien and they all remain connected to one host organism? So is this a blend between the alien invasion and zombie genres? Or just an alien flick at the end of the day?
