im using the singer stitch quick+, its my first time ever using a sewing machine and I can't find anything that can help me fix whats happening.

so when I put the fabric under the metal plate and start sewing (sorry for terminology, I have no idea what I'm doing), my fabric just gets stuck and I cant move it. fabric is not thick and im using the thread and needle that came with the machine. I dont know what I'm doing wrong and I'd like some help please!
