To find out what actually separates successful KDP books from the noise, I recently scraped and analyzed a dataset of 416 nonfiction books on Amazon. Out of all of them, only 7 had either a bestseller badge or a #1 Top Rated label (roughly 1.7% of the market).

Instead, go where readers are hungry and competition is thin.
