I'm planning a bike ride including Lakes Basin Path and considering returning to town on Old Mammoth Road, which looks like a really beautiful and fun descent. I'm an experienced road cyclist but I'm recovering mentally from a few crashes involving cars. I won't have a good time if there's aggressive traffic and would rather just descend on the path in that case. Planning for a holiday weekend too. Appreciate any insight you can give!
