I have configured my Plex Server on an Orange Pi5 (a perfectly capable board) and am intending to use a Raspberry pi 4b as a streaming device connected via a HiFiberry digi+ HAT and optical cable to my Yamaha receiver.

All very good and it will work well (the Rasperry Pi 4b hasn't arrived yet...

One of the features I like the sound of is the sonic analysis but, it turns out that this will not sun on ARM boards (my Orange Pi5).

I paid for a month's subscription to the Pass to see what benifit it gives me (I only use Plex for music) but the only advantage over the free version is the loudness control and I think I can replicate than myself in Linux (tbc). It is certainly not a deal-breaker.

So, for me, I will likely continue with the free subscription and also look at other options such as Jellyfin.

Does anyone know if Plex had a roadmap to include the sonic analysis on ARM machines?

I have a Yamaha receiver to which I am intending to connect a Raspberry pi 4b with a HiFiberry digi+ hat via an optical cable.

My initial intention was to have both the plexamp and server on the same Pi but I am now thinking of putting the Plexserver on an Orange Pi5 I have spare and running the Plexamp on the Raspberry pi using RoPieee XL as the OS.

This means that I will have a more efficient server as it is connected to a Buffalo Link station so will do the uplift from there.

The Orange Pi5 is more than capable providing they I can get it all working

The only question in my mind is that it seems a little overcomplicated for the end result that I am looking for and ongoing maintenance will involve looking after two different hardware solutions.

I could of course simply install Volumio on the Raspberry pi and have a much simpler solution but, it wouldn't have all the functionality that the Plexamp solution has.

Had anyone else gone down a similar route and what would be your advice?
