Serious question: why are uniform and appearance standards seemingly not enforced *at all?*
And what is the point of making those policies if managers just ignore them?
I'm embarrassed by some of the associates in my store... uniform shirts and white t-shirts not tucked in, dirty shoes, chewing gum, excessive jewelry - including gaudy necklaces with photos of girlfriends on them, improper headwear, and beards that are not "approximately 1 inch or less in length, have a defined cheek line and neckline, with the remainder of the face clean-shaven, and well-groomed and appropriately cared for."
I'm admittedly guilty on the beard issue, mine is well-groomed and defined but it's obviously longer than an inch. But since nobody says anything to me about it, I let it grow. I'd gladly trim it back if I was asked to do it, but only if the standards were enforced equally.
Is everyone else's store like mine? I notice the same issues when I'm shopping in other stores, I just wonder why managers don't care. I know that they have larger issues to deal with every day, but enforcing uniform and appearance standards doesn't take much effort. And what do customers think? That should be our biggest concern.
Hello Lakeland! I know that someone at Publix corporate is reading this. So what are you going to do about it?0
