Doing a short-term rental in Florida and developed an addiction to Publix Subs. Dear God these Subs are good! I know the Tipping scene has gotten out of hand, but there should be a way to tip the people that make these Subs. Also awesome that you can order them in a salad version. Rock on Publix sub makers! 👍
I noticed that last week's ad had boxed mac and cheese on sale and the Cracker Barrel Parmesan White Cheddar specifically (the one with the blue stripes on it) was sent to us with a sell by date of only July 2nd, so the day after the sale ended. I asked my manager if I should have pulled it at the start of the ad when I noticed it, but they said to leave it and hope it sells... I ended up putting quite a bit in damages.
That being said, I went to another store near where I live yesterday and noticed theirs all said sell by July 2nd too. Im wondering if the warehouse just send everyone close dated product before the sale started to get rid of it, or they just didnt notice it was passing the sell by date that soon.
Y'all might want to check the ones at your store too. Sku: 242197.
The other varieties were fine and expired next year.
My store is currently in the process of changing over to the new system, and we only have it on two of our registers. I'm hardly ever on either of them, and I can not for the life of me remember how to price correct on the new system. I know I wouldn't get in trouble if I asked anyone. Everyone at my store is really nice to me, but im too embarrassed to ask 😭
if anyone could tell me how to price correct, or just direct me to which section it's under on the new system, I'd really appreciate it.
Hey everyone, I wanted to bring something up about Publix, specifically in the grocery department, that’s really been weighing on me. My main manager in grocery has been super stingy with hours, and I’m starting to wonder if it’s because there’s a bonus going on—like, is he holding back hours because of that? When he was on vacation, the assistant manager in grocery gave me a lot more hours, so I think this is a deliberate shift. On top of that, he’s a really poor manager—he says there aren’t enough hours and that we have to wait for call-offs, which I think is really unprofessional. He just sits at his desk, expecting us to figure it out. He even got angry when I was moving too slowly, but I’m just wondering—like, is there some time management system we’re supposed to have? At the grand opening, he promised he’d teach us his ways, but he never did anything. And on top of all this, it’s like I can’t even joke around, because when he takes his job so seriously, he drains all the color out of the room. I’m trying to understand him, but it’s hard when he’s so stuck up. And even though he’s intimidating, I’m not scared of him—it’s just the way he carries himself. And it’s not just me; other people in my store have been complaining about him, too. I’m afraid that if I report him, he’s going to retaliate—he already did that to other people I know.
I left Publix in North Carolina almost 10 years ago. I was a manager then. Now I'd like to go back but really don't want to be a manager. I've applied twice. Never heard back. Am I blackballed?
Have you ever had a post (especially a rant) so specific that management/said customer found out that you posted about it? I’m curious as to how small the Publix world actually is….
How did your store celebrate Independence Day for the associates that had to work? Cookouts? Catered lunch? Etc?
The FTO version of the Tutto baguette is inferior to the mixed one, in my opinion, and it's not even close.
I heard this might be for the Tutto baguettes only for an ad, which won't bother me too much.... the cheese / onion / chipotle versions are a mess.....
I’ve been running my department on my own as an assistant department manager for about 9 months now (won’t say what department due to ethics concerns.) My department manager position has been open this entire time but they haven’t placed anyone there yet. Any other assistant department managers that have ran a department on their own for an extended period of time?
How did you feel during that period? Were you frustrated with Publix?
Did you feel like training was stagnant? (I like to be developed and learn a lot, but when I don’t get trained, I get bored).
What happened when you finally got a manager? Did you feel like it was a little unfair that they didn’t just promote you to give you said position and find an assistant?
So my district manager pulled me to the office and told me they love my work and want to see me succeed. I’m ROI so she asked me to transfer to a store that’s much farther away than the one that I’m at of course it comes with a pay raise but not a promotion that I was looking for but if I still take this do you think there will be a promotion for me down the road?
I'm a CS worker who does sub line a decent amount. Often when it's slow I find myself eating a few pickle slices or a few black olives. How bad is that? Is that fireable? Write-upable? Also, I'll sometimes give customers discounts (like a dollar off) or only charge them for a half sub if we were out of what they wanted or things like that. Is that fireable too? I've seen others do it but idk. I know a year or so ago a bunch of deli workers got fired because they were selling people full subs for like 2 bucks but this is different yeah? Idk I don't wanna get fired 😭
A simple pasta salad. Brandon, Florida. $32. Is Publix actually a real place anymore?
