Schedule Request & PTO

Is there a rule I am missing somewhere that says full-timers cannot request a Thursday-Sunday in order to not waste PTO for a simple four-day off weekend?

My new-ish dept manager and asst. are making it seem as if my coworkers and I need to stop putting in a Thursday-Sunday weekend off. Mind you, this is done occasionally and we don’t overlap (on our own account, but if the dept manager approves both people, that is his problem IMO).

My coworkers and I do not want to have to use PTO on weekends off that are not real vacations. I like to save my PTO for when I am actually taking a vacation or in case of emergency. That is why normally my husband and I will plan a Thursday-Sunday off once every couple months, and never even during a holiday.

Are we in the wrong for arguing against this “rule” set by manager? There are enough people in the department that this should not even be an issue.

Swollen left side on male cat

My male cat, who is a year old, seems to have a bit of a swollen left side near his back/hind legs area. Is this an emergent matter? He has been acting seemingly normal to me and my husband. His gait is normal and he has no issues jumping up and leaping down from heights. His bathroom habits appear to be the same. No more vocal than usual. Not sure if he is bloated or if this is a more serious matter. 😞

First Macro Meal Prep

First post here! I’ve been so inspired to do better with my meal prepping for myself by following posts here. I am on a fitness journey and have recently been more committed to tracking my macros along with my calories. This is my first meal prep where I planned out all my breakfast, dinners, snacks, and a couple lunches for the week based on my macros and I think it turned out really well!

Breakfasts : four high protein egg bakes with turkey sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers
Lunches : two chickpea chicken salads
Dinners : four salmon sushi style bowls for me and one for my husband
Snacks/Desserts : 4 blueberry chia puddings
Also prepped the cantaloupe and romain lettuce for the week 😊

Six months into slow recomp 💪

Been on a journey of body recomp after losing 15 pounds at the end of last year. Went from 130ish to 114 in four months, then maintained for a little bit and discovered the magic of body recomp. I have been slowly working towards my dream body, not really a specific weight.

I have maintained 118 for a few months now and my muscle mass has visibly increased to me. I am 30 years old, eat around 1600/day (give or take, I am not super super strict with it like during my deficit), eat close to 120g protein daily, and track with Lose.It. I strength train 4x/week, cardio maybe twice/week, and my husband and I have started going on walks after dinner when he is home early enough 🩷💪

This subreddit has been so amazing for me and inspirational. I have shared it with a few of my petite friends who are also on health journeys currently. 🩷

Meal prepped for half the day, here is my low energy dinner

Cottage cheese, berries, turkey bacon, turkey sticks, sola bagel 1/2 cream cheese 1/2 pb & honey, onion hummus, cucumber - this hit.

I grocery shop and meal prep every weekend and normally it is no big deal, I love doing it for my husband and me. But today was just not it; I went to bed later than normal last night and my period is heavy today and I am just over everything and feel overwhelmed. Did half the meal prep today and will finish the rest tomorrow after I get off work. This is what I managed to throw together with my very low and tired energy. It was a 10/10 and hit the spot. 🩷
