I don't own it but as always, I am constantly searching!
This year I have chosen track 2 - Just Like Heaven.
I can't use footage from the Show video as it'd get done for copyright by damned UCG again, so this is taken from their only appearance in 1993 at Great X-pectations Festival at Finsbury Park in London on 13th June 1993. It was also partly televised by the UK music show The Beat introduced by Gary Crowley.

One of the greatest live albums! I love it. It was recorded 18-19 July 1992 at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan, USA.
How lucky the people who attended these were!

This video was from the one show they did in 1993 at Great X-pectations Festival at Finsbury Park, London, on 13th June 1993.
The person who recorded the video was probably cursing the person in front who decided to sit on someone's shoulders!
This was also the last Cure concert with Boris Williams as the drummer, who left the band in 1994.

To put it kindly it's not my favourite Cure release in the world... π
There was a dispute on release when iTunes overpriced the EP, and Robert urged fans to wait until it was Β£4 or less, rather than the Β£7.99 being charged. Robert wrote to Geffen Records stating the price was wrong and was pretty angry about it! It eventually got a price reduction as iTunes accidentally categorised it as an Album!!
I have chosen Track 3 this year - Sleep When I'm Dead, but as I'm not keen on the remix, decided to post a live version of the song!

It was the second and final single from The Head On The Door and reached number 24 on the UK charts.
I adore this performance on Le Grand Echiquier show on French TV on 15th January 1986 - Pearl and Lol swapping instruments but someone should have noticed there is no sax on the record πππ. Maybe there was a trumpet drought back then?

The Cure - Songs Of A Lost World.
I did get it on release on triple CD format but never on vinyl. Until I saw it on my week off in HMV at a very cut down price under Β£20 and went for it. And I'm glad I did!
It sounds amazing! Alone has become my new favourite track of it as I love those strange bird type noises in the beginning of it π©Άβ¨
It was released on Fiction Records in 2024.
This is the last of my current Cure music haul and I'm looking forward to adding more hopefully on my next weekend out in October...

An acquired taste - some people hate it (yes really!) while others like me think it's brilliant!
It was released on Wonderland Records. Steve Severin chose the band name after the horror film of the same name in which people took fictional LSD and turned into psychotic murderers ten years later!
This year I have chosen Track 2 - Looking-Glass Girl which is one of my favourite ones on the album and has Robert singing. There isn't any performance of it sadly so it's only an audio and photo post.

The Cure - Rock In Rio Volume Two.
I discovered this after not even knowing it existed, on a recent day out in Felixstowe at Onion Vinyl.
I just had to buy it as it was good value and a double album in a lovely gatefold sleeve!
The gig this is taken from was the Hollywood Rock Festival in Rio de Janeiro on 26th January 1996.
This album was released on 10th December 2025 on the Parachute Recording Company label.
Now to find Volume One...!

This was an American only compilation album containing Seventeen Seconds and Faith, which were not initially released there.
I was very fortunate to find it at a record fair last year on vinyl and I treasure it π©Ά.

He would have been 66 today.
It's still hard to believe he's no longer with us and I truly miss him. His musicianship and kindness live on forever in us Cure fans' hearts.
This MTV Unplugged performance of Just Like Heaven has always been one of my favourites and Perry playing that toy piano is so lovely.

This has to be the album that cemented me as a total Cure fan and for that reason, it remains one of my favourite ones of all time.
The sixth Cure album and the return of Simon Gallup to the band, and a new drummer Boris Williams. It reached number 7 on the UK charts.
This year I have chosen Track 4, The Blood. Fantastic record flamenco style π π π!

It was only released in the USA, which is a shame as I think it'd done well universally.
The song is played regularly still at the current concerts. The original sax player was Ron Howe of Fools Dance π. Gabriel Cooper has been brilliant at the recent concerts playing that part!
This performance was at La Route du Rock at Le Fort de Saint-Pere in France on 13th August 2005.

Absolutely ecstatic at seeing The Cure - Entreat Plus and at Β£30, not bad value. This was in Grooveyard Records and the owner put the Disintegration album on as he spotted that I liked the band!
And in Onion Vinyl, nd The Cure - Rock In Rio Volume Two was one I've never seen before. It's from Hollywood Rock festival in Rio on 26th January 1996. Interesting π€... and Β£14.99 was worth the gamble!
