Why isn't this the go to for espresso Vs Bambino?
Had a Bambino for 3 years, despite upgrades and tweaks if it's not a dark roast dark medium roast and dialled and prepped to a good level in it's sour or astringent esp about grind. most of last year went back to the pressurised portafilter as it at least worked consistently ok. Read about this machine here and decided to see if the hype was right. As I do like my picopresso but the holding and squeezing blindly hoping pressure close enough plus paper filter it, dose weight correct and preheat is not nice all the time.
This robot thing is awesome, immediately pulling shots equal to Bambino at its best god shots! but dialling in is so easy going, grind, dose, preheat etc just needs to be close enough and go by feel on the lever and it will make delicious espresso.
Plus it just pairs perfectly with beginner conical grinders, lovely texture and not fussy, just good coffee.
If they could just crank these out and get the price down to make them available no one would be buying flairs. These machines should be on everyone's radar. I reckon if I get the piston preheated it might even manage some Omni roast beans
