Today when Chewy and I were up in the garden he found a hole in the fence that I was unaware of and he escaped. I think he was chasing a bird or something like that so of course I freak out and start calling for him but he has horrible recall. Im pretty sure it is because we got him from the pound at a year and a half old and didn't know most commands. I had taken him to doggy school a few months ago to help me train him and myself, but his recall still wasn't great so we kept working on it and we still are. This time when he escape he actually came back! Chewy got so much praise and loveies once I got him back inside the fence. I feel like this is a big win🏆 for both of us!

Anyway we are sitting on the couch, im crocheting and he is snoozing in his regular spot on the back of the couch. He is snoring and napping so hard like he pays the bills. Then I hear a quite thump, thump, thump. I look over at him and he is still snoring away without a care in the world and then I see it! He's still snoring and his tail starts thumping for about ten seconds straight!

This little man has come so far in the seven months that we have had him. He used to cower down at most noises for the first month and snap or growl at me any time I got to close to my husband. He went from 5.6 pounds to almost 10 pounds, he had horrible dandruff/flaky skin and now there is only healthy skin and an almost shiny coat that has grown a good two inches and it is longer than my fingers at his scruff!

Long story I know but, MAN this little Pound Puppy has Blossomed into the sweetest Little Man.

Chewy brought in a present 🎁for me this morning. I told him it was a very nice leaf. Then he proceeded to tear it up.😆

My first picking of bush Cherokee yellow wax beans, pickling cucumbers, and summer squash.

Chewy chased a big old tree frog across my deck ot under the pallet risers for my plants. I thought he was stuck for a few minutes but he managed to wiggle out on his own. I love my tree frogs, so Chewy and I had a heart to heart about not chasing them and scaring them away. This is the look that he gave me in return while I'm sure he was lying to me about not chasing them again (sigh). I can't stay upset with a face like this.

Nw Oregon State lots of cedar, vine Maple alder and a few doughnuts for. Elevation is about 500 ft. 2ish miles from the Columbia river.

Chewy had another busy day today. We visited the beach for the second time since we rescued him from the humane society in early January. He had fun chasing seagulls and other dogs came to visit us while we were having a hot dog roast on the beach over a mini Solo stove. He played in the water a little bit and barked at two logs that washed up on the beach during our walks. Chewy got a few tiny bites of hotdog and a few bites of cheese stick. No, definitely not spoiled at all.

And an hour later he has this gunk all over his face. He was a clean little man.

Chewy had a very hard day today while I went grocery shopping. He was responsible for the house again today and didn't burn it down or flood it out while his dad was down at the barn getting an old truck running again. After I got home he was so excited to see me he started trilling and squeaking with excitement while I was bringing in the groceries. After dinner I accidentally left the butter dish on the table which he found and politely cleaned off the butter on the outside of the dishes I had to change the dish out. Thankfully the lid was on so he didn't get to the butter. Chewy likes taking turns cuddling with both of his favorite humans some times on his tummy and sometimes on his back but always in the crook of your arm that will eventually fall asleep but you feel obligated not to disturb the little gremlin because he looks so peaceful and sweet when his eyes are closed and he is totally relaxed.
