5 Years with Purple – Honest Review + Surprisingly Great Customer Service Story

I do not post much on this type of topic, but I had to share this because I don't see enough posts about companies actually doing right by their customers.

The Mattress Itself (5 stars)

Bought a Purple mattress about five years ago and honestly it's still one of the best purchases I've made. Slept great from night one — no break-in period, no "getting used to it" phase. Five years later it still feels like it did when we got it. Zero complaints on the mattress itself.

The Protector... Not So Much

We picked up their mattress protector at the same time. A while back it started coming apart and ended up staining the mattress underneath. Frustrating, especially on a mattress we loved. Called Purple expecting the usual runaround.

Customer Service Blew Me Away

Here's where it gets good. They didn't just replace the protector. The rep told us there was actually a bad batch of material used in some of their protectors — they already knew about it. Not only did they send us a brand new replacement protector, they sent us a brand new mattress too. No argument, no extended back-and-forth, no jumping through hoops. All we paid was $250 shipping and they are removing the old mattress free.

I wasn't expecting that at all.

Bottom Line

Purple makes a genuinely great mattress and apparently stands fully behind their products when something goes wrong. Five years in and we're still fans now even bigger ones. If you're on the fence, I'd say go for it.

Anyone use Skar Marine Amps and Speakers? I recently replaced DS18

Curious what the group says. Sounds pretty good for the money: 4 10-inch subs, 2 8-inch, and 4 6.5-inch

Total dashboard refinish of my 2004 Sea Fox center console. Hated the old togles with breakers

Plexiglass engraved and cut with a CNC. Held in with a heavy adhesive. all aluminum quick-disconnect switches purchased from Temu. Refused to pay USD 30 per switch. Much cleaner, as my electronics were on the dash. Also, a new motor refit. Suzuki 300hp. Gave her a new life.

Has anyone in the group used Captain Adams ' excursions? We are heading to Clearwater next month and came across his website. He has decent reviews, although not a ton. He sent me a copy of his captain's license, so I know he is legit. Any feedback would be appreciated. We are not want to fish. just check out Dunedin and Honeymoon Island.

I had no idea what is was, but found out Sony wanted to compete with Macintosh tubes. My vintage repair guy cleaned and lubed. He said he had never seen one and was amazed. Also, the factory wood case with the owner's manual is a treat. I am a Pioneer guy, but this rivals it at 40 pounds and sounds incredible. Definitely a learning moment about Sony

Lennon was a huge fan of these https://hifihalloffame.com/celebrity-systems/john-lennon/

Having 2 receivers in the same room and limited space for 4 speakers, this Pyle PSLS6 six-zone two-amplifier input solved a huge issue.. I can now easily change receivers and speakers, even using both at the same time for different speakers. I am not a Pyle fan, but this unit is solid, weighs about 10 pounds, and is well-built. The Volume knobs feel a bit cheesy, but they work great.

I am no fan of Pyle but I just received this six zone two amplifier inputs and it solved a huge problem. I bought it as an open box for $68 I'm able to easily listen to 4 speakers on either receiver. I also picked up a very inexpensive RCA splitter which allows me to use up to four pieces of audio equipment between the two receivers. For example, my turntable can work on either or and I think it was about $13. This is a very cool set up and the sound is amazing.
