AITJ for indirectly killing my best friend?
I (25 M) and my best friend (20 something M) had the chance to make a GIANT change in our country (The United States of America), which could really solve a lot of issues the issues that popped up after the war that decimated pretty much every state. Best part is one of us would be rewarded greatly for it. Anyways, me and a few people were put in a war of attrition (metaphorically, not literally) and long story short I won. Anyways, the government shoots my friend several times until he dies. I feel like such a jerk, I could've saved him but I gave up mid way. Shortly after he passed I made sure to enact upon his dying wish, but it just made the void he left in my heart even larger. Here's the real kicker—I just walked away from his corpse. After the events of the contest I knew I probably wasn't gonna get my reward, but I really couldn't care less. So, AITJ?
