I had to take down all my feeders due to a sick house finch (mycoplasma eye disease) and at only day 4 have really missing all the birds. Luckily, goldfinches have been visiting the garden. Today, I had to cut back some spent coneflowers but with the goldfinches around, I stuck a handful of stems into my empty suet cage hanging by a hedge. Within 15 minutes had this pair hanging out! (I left many other coneflowers.)
