Rolex day date authentication help

A family friend recently passed away and this was his watch. He wore it daily for over 20 years so it definitely shows wear. Unfortunately there’s no box or papers/card, so I’m unsure if it’s authentic.

From what I can tell it appears to be a vintage Rolex Day-Date, possibly 60s I also can’t find many examples with this exact champagne stick-marker dial.

I’m considering buying it from the family if it’s real, so I was hoping some of you could give your opinion on whether Rolex made this dial/font configuration from factory and if the watch itself looks authentic. Any info would really help.

What concerns me is the day marker being off centered
Some letters touching and looking sloppy
But I’m no expert
Admins deleted my thread on the other post so reposting it

One user stated it’s from the 60s

I will try and get more pics of everything
I appreciate any advice
