holes in XDome caused by plastic clips

**please no advice needed re: repair. I found 2 holes in mesh after only 5 nights of use. the holes are very close to where a plastic clip hangs. I KNOW the holes had to have been caused by the plastic clips that dangle when the inner is attached to the fly, and not the poles. I have been EXTRA cautious and careful with this tent because I'd read somewhere else in here that those clips can tear the mesh. I'm sorry, but who in the heck wants a $600 tent with 8 clips attached to it that have the potential to rip the mesh? A backpacking tent should be able to be stuffed in a sack, or rolled, with other things piled on top of it or beside it in your pack, without worrying about something pushing against one of the clips causing a tear in the mesh. Simply put it's a very poor design imo. Anyone else have this happen ? or agree ? Other than the clips I like the tent. Also...this tent has ALWAYS been in a separate dry bag with nothing sharp. Only my tent, sleeping bag, pad, pillow and clothes have been the dry bag as I've only used the tent this year for backcountry paddling trips. When I paddle I use a completely separate bag for my tent and sleep system only.
