When I first read the books I didn't really think much of Councilor Terik, but upon rereading I honestly feel like he's just a fraud. I mean he's seemingly the only Descryer in the world, and Descrying seems to have no tangible proof of its legitimacy. Idk he's always just super vague and it's so funny because he genuinely could've just made the whole thing up and no one would be able to prove him wrong. What even is potential, anyway? I think it could be a cool twist if Terik was secretly a fraud, although I know in my heart that he's too irrelevant to ever have that kind of importance in the plot lol
