I'm not trying to offend anyone I'm just genuinely confused.

I always see people complaining that "everyone hates Fitz! It's not fair"

I'm curious- where is this hate??? Everywhere I look it's "Fitz is overhated!!!" or "Poor Fitz" or "Fitz doesn't deserve to be disliked"

If anyone is vastly hated by the fandom it's Sophie and Keefe.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with any of these views. But if you search up "i hate sophie foster" you'll get so many results you'll be scrolling at night. Search I love sophie foster instead, and you have... essentially nothing corresponding.

Meanwhile search up "i love fitz vacker" and you get hella lot more results. But "i hate fitz vacker" will only give you a whole bunch of "fitz is overhated" and "why do ppl hate fitz"

I agree in 2020, right after Legacy came out, he got quite a bit of hate. But that peaked at around six months when everyone was on their screens in quarantine. Six years later (danggg it's been six years since COVID?!) I don't see this hate at all

Again I'm not trying to offend anyone, pls don't be rude. I'm just genuinely curious to see where this hate now IS, or whether it's just memories of a few years back

I finished book 1 yesterday and found out that when sophie and keefe have their first kiss it is BRIEF and also interrupted and im a hopeless romantic😭😭 i dont know what to do. HELP

Everybody in this subreddit seems to hate Fitz for no apparent reason. They say ‘Fitz was horrible to Sophie he shouted at her,’ and yes, this is a horrible thing to do. But guys, his dad was literally dying and Sophie was the only one who could help. You think he’s going to be gentle to the one who could potentially save his father’s life, but is too ‘cowardly’ (in his eyes probably) to do it?

Not to mention that he was sixteen, everyone was self-centred and scared. The world was ending, his dad dying, and Sophie might’ve been doing everything she could to stop it, but in Fitz’ eyes, that wasn’t enough.

So yes, although I am a sokeefe shipper, I do think that Fitz deserves more love. What do you think?

i have a lot but my recent favorite is that if they were regular teenagers, dex would make tutoring videos but people would call him cute in the comments

I have a rather apathetic emotion with Keefe. in the story, he is a solid, plot aiding characte, that has a right to be liked, for his funniness or whatever. BUT THIS FANDOM WARSHIPS HIM. He deserves love, but so does literally every character.

he is not some god cause he has nice hair or somethin.

Hey hey! I don’t know if anyone here will be able to help, but it’s worth shooting a shot. So. The fanfiction was posted to fanfiction.net, and I don’t remember the author’s name or the title. I THOUGHT I remembered the author’s name, but I reached out and it was the wrong person. Anyway, the premise of the story was this: Sophie winds up sleeping with both Fitz and Keefe in the same night. The why and how isn’t relevant, and there’s no explicit smut of any kind, but anyway, she winds up pregnant and doesn’t know whose it is. Mind you they’re adults in this fic. Anyway, both of them tell her they’ll help in any way they can and no hard feelings no matter who ends up being the father, and they both want that role of course, but no hard feelings either way. The fic takes place over about nine months, and at the end, the baby is born and there’s this buildup to seeing the baby’s eyes, since whether they’re ice-blue or teal will tell who’s the father. They wind up being speckled with both ice-blue AND teal and it’s left a mystery who is the father or implied they both are (which is possible, albeit rare).

SOME ADDITIONAL INFO: I seem to recall the author’s irl name being Sophie, ironically enough. And I think her username also had Sophie in it, or something about stars. Could be wrong. And I’m also pretty sure the author died partway through the fic, and her friend took over writing to finish the story, and took over all her accounts.

Does anyone have a list of what levels Sophie is in at foxfire in each book? Most of the books happen in a vastly different time frame than the others so I officially have no clue what level she/her friends are in

My BF and I have been reading through Book 7 and he wished prattles pins were real. I offered to make him some—I can draw and if i cant find a custom enamel pin website, i could just borrow a regular round pin machine. Even shrink plastic would work.

This really got me thinking how curious it is that the series lacks merchandise. My guess is that the fanbase has a lot more young people, and as it hasnt gotten a movie yet, has more of a casual cult following than, say, the beast Harry Potter was.

I wonder if i should even bother to make some before the movie, since they’re probably gonna change the designs Shannon had planned for some anyway lol!

I'm really hoping someone can actually answer my question.

I don't know why, but I have a feeling that somewhere in the books it's been stated that Grizel and Sandor were originally designed to swap places: Grizel being a bodyguard for Sophie and Sandor being a bodyguard for Fitz.

I'm pretty sure my mind's made it up, because I can't find this fact confirmed anywhere, but I still want to know

so was it ever stated in the series or not?

EDIT: thank you guys for helping me out with this one!! I'm actually glad there was some talk about switching bodyguards, and I've just messed it up a bit haha

Ive been reading since I was 12, now I’m 17!! Just like Sophie!

Can I just say, I think that this series has taught me something super important: How NOT to write.

Ive read all the books, and each time I am greatly amused by the authors writing. As I get older I’ve grown to see more and more wrong with it. The charecters are way over dramatic and absolutely clueless. Everything is centered only around Sophie, with no attention to real world problems outside of her own. I mean, the charecters can’t even die, like Forkle magically has an identical twin and that fire guy just… is there. I won’t be suprised when Brant shows up for the finale.

Sophie herself is self absorbed and ego centrical, which I can’t blame her for because the people around her are so emotionally lacking and annoying.

The plot is going nowhere because each charecter is too slow and fragile to make any progress or growth.

Above all, this entire series has become ”just for the money”. Book ten isn’t out, but we have a field guide, two half books, and graphic novels? Just wrap it up. We all know that in the end, Sophie and her gang will wi by doing essentially nothing, everyone will love and be crazy for sophie and she’ll marry Keefe at the end. While all the Neverseen go to jail.

As someone who grew up loving the series, I’m so disappointed by what it’s become.

I need to know if I'm obsessed. How many times have you guys reread the series? Personally, I've reread it 12 times.

Ok I don’t know if this is weird/random but I just realized that every goblin bodyguard is the opposite gender of who they protect. Sandor and Sophie, Grizel and Fitz, Lovise and Dex, Woltzer and Biana, Cadoc and Edaline, and Brielle (RIP) and Grady. I don’t know if this is done on purpose but if it was I can’t think of any reason why. It seems like it happened too many times to be a coincidence, especially since there aren’t any cases that I can think of that prove it wrong. Any ideas??

So I always wanted the whole gang to stumble into the room in Atlantis where the skeleton of Sophie’s house is. In Exile, she went there with Councillor Terik to get the Pink Sparkly notebook.

The reason I want this to happen is because so many times, within the series, where they lowkey forget Sophie came from somewhere different. they’re all like “oh wdym you don’t like sparkly dresses” or “why not dress up more” And it’s simply because they just don’t understand how simple Sophie lived. The fanciest dress I’ve personally ever owned was my prom dress that I got from a mall outlet for 50% off from the clearance rack. And I’m sure that dress is simple elvin everyday wear. Sophie was in highschool techically she would have had the opportunity to go to prom if she wanted to (not that she would because the kids were mean to her bc she was so young 🫢 like I can’t even imagine 12 year old me in a class with 18 years olds- but this is a convo for another day)

anyways- Sophie’s lifestyle was NOT grand! She wasn’t rich! Her family was full of happiness and joy and love! The point of Sophie was to bring perspective back into every elf’s life- yet I still feel like the elves simply cannot comprehend how simple humans truly do live. They need to SEE it to believe it.

So just imagine the gang stumbling into the room. Stina is there in my imagination but who knows who she’s with in yours.

“uhhh guys..” Stina voice echoed in the empty Atlantis hallway. “I think I found something.”

Sophie and her friends look curiously at Stina as they crept closer to the doorway. The hallway had a sense of familiarity to it, yet the ache in her stomach told her otherwise as the unease settled in.

This room could be practically anything.

This could be the truth.

This could put them ahead of the Neverseen once and for all.

It could be everything.

Yet disappointment stung her curiosity as she entered the dimly lit room to find herself at the front door of her childhood home.

Shock was more visible than her disappointment as she scanned the pastel walls of her simple home. On the walls hung old family photos- with her and Amy in the most ridiculous poses. From the front door, the living room was visible. You could see the green couch she‘d curl up on every night to watch a family movie. She could practically see the popcorn all over the floor and she definitely heard the echos of laughter as the school from Mean Girls turned into a jungle of wild animals.

This was where she grew up.

She could see her father laying a newspaper down on the table and hear his voice echoing in her brain, How was school today, Soybean?

Fitz voice chimed in, interrupting the flashbacks she was experiencing. “—Right, Sophie?”

”What?” she yelped, swallowing any remnants of nostalgia.

She wasn’t going to cry today. Not today. Not when they’re so close to finding the truth.

Concerned glazed Fitz‘s features as she met his eyes, also meeting the eyes of the rest of her friends who shared critical looks.

”This is where you used to live right?“ He repeated, then realizing what he was saying before his features softened.

Sophie opened her mouth to confirm it but was cut off by Keefe’s “awws” as he picked up a framed photo from the side table.

“Foster is this youu” Keefe said squeakily, “Your sooo cutee!!!”

Sophies face immediately turned 5 shades of pink as she realized what he was holding. It was her first day of Kindergarten grade photo, with her two from teeth missing. Her hair was in pigtails with red ribbons in it.

It was also before she’d hit her head and started hearing thoughts. Her mental voice rang.

She was too flustered about the nostalgia of being in her childhood home to come up with a response for that. It was just. Too. Much.

Keefe seemed to pick up on her mood and he set it down before glancing at her empatheticly. She knew she didn’t need empathy- she just needed to get out of there so she could do the important stuff.

“We probably should go, there really isnt anything important in here,” Sophie said objectively, turning herself towards the door. “we have tons of much more important stuff to be doing and we can’t waste any time.”

“Oh come on! This is the first time I’ve seen where you have grown up!” Biana exclaimed, jumping in front of the door to stop Sophie from making her much needed escape. “It honestly explains.. so much about you-“ Biana realized what she’d said after she’d said it and tried to recover. “In a good way, of course!”

”Please,“ Stina rolled her eyes, “it looks super junky in here. The unicorns have a better stable than this-“ Everyone glared at Stina, making her turn a slight shade of pink before continuing. “It seriously explains why your so.. well you.”

”Thanks, I guess..” Sophie sighed. She wasn’t getting out of this. “Fine. We have 5 minutes to look around and then we’re getting out of here. Just don’t—“ Her voice cracked a little bit before she realized telling them not to break anything is pointless.

She doesn’t live here anymore.

This isn’t her home anymore.

None of the stuff in here even matter.

At least not in her big new fancy world…

Everyone else seemed to fill in the blanks as they grouped up and seperated into the dark hallways of her childhood home.

Sophie still slightly remained frozen in place. It was hard to think through where she was- and the fact that her friends were there.

”Relax, Foster.” Keefe whispered as he laced their fingers together. ”Lets go see where our Lovely Laday Fos-Boss grew up because you know I have been dying to see it!”

He didn’t leave her gaze until she gave him a small smile. The fog in her vision cleared a little as she let Keefe and the rest of her friends guide her through her childhood home.

And for the first time in a long time, she let herself think about her life before.

She indulged in the nostalgia and let the human version of herself overtake her.

At the end of all this, she realized that this was part of who she was and in order to fight for what is right, she has to stop fighting who she is. Even if it means sharing a fragile part of herself with the people she cared about the most.

Im hoping my writing wasn’t too bad but this is just something I’m YEARNING for in the real books. Shannon could 100% write it better than me but that was just to show you guys the vision! This was my first time posting writing for the world to see so I’m lowkey nervous about it but writing is so hard. In my head is 10x smoother than what I got on paper. Respect for Shannon for sure 👍 I would love to see what you guys can come up with and feel free to write your most wanted scene the way I did.
