All right Keepers I need help. It’s come to my attention that my flair is taken extremely seriously.

And while I’ve come to love this flair it has to come down.

Anyone wanna be creative and make a new flair for me that involves Sophie.😅

So as you can see in my flair I’ve appointed myself as Sophie lawyer. I’m cooking up a defense post on Sophie.

Actually a lot of post but I’m busy with collage.

Anyway, in the meantime I wanted to make this so my other post is stupid long. ( Spoiler I failed at that)

A criticism I see here on Reddit that really irks me, is that Sophie is a horrible friend. One of the biggest reasons being because she doesn’t spend quality time with other friends and only seems to be with them when missions come up. And also treats them as they’re disposable.

I find this so freaking stupid. Like EGREGIOUSLY. And I feel like it comes from people loving other side characters so much and not comprehending the relationships between side characters and main protagonist. And also how their environment or this war has in the cause and effect of their friendships.

Let me explain why this is stupid as hell. While Sophie and all the other fiends have a very sweet relationship and bond, they also have the same relationship you may have with coworkers or school mates. Usually you start getting close to people in your classroom because you’re basically forced to be around them and work with them.

My point is that all of the friendships made within this series were mostly formed through “work”.

Keefe obviously had a crush on Sophie from the moment they met but the main reason they began to get so close was because of what? Him wanting to help her out with her mysteries. And to not ramble that literally how all of the other friendships also progress. Biana picked up on their secrecy and wanted help, then Dex, and so forth. Literally ALL of her friends except Dex cuz they had a connection before.

So it’s only natural they mostly spend the majority amount of time with each other BECAUSE of missions because that how it began. Now did they have fun bonding time before this whole war started and shit kept hitting the fan. Yes. But it doesn’t compare to how much time they spend together because of Black Swan stuff and “working”.

What pisses me off even more? HER FRIENDS TYPICALLY DONT EVEN COME OVER TO VISIT HER!!!

Now if you can give me book and page numbers where they do come over to Sophie to chill and check on her let me know. But literally the only people who come over to her, of my knowledge, are Dex, Fitz, and Keefe.

And half of the time it’s FOR WORK. I don’t understand why Sophie is made the villian in these friendships as if the other fiends reciprocate what yall like to shit on her for. I just don’t get it. This war is literally taking up these kids lives. ESPECIALLY Sophie.

I swear yall want her to be the robot that she thinks she is, always always working and working; hard at solving things every day. Which isn’t even possible in my eyes because Gisela is so far ahead. Sophie would just be studying what Gisela has allowed to slip in my opinion. And then when she happens to have time with interpersonal stuff, which unfortunately is with boys because the main boys in her lives are very intertwined with “work”. It’s an issue.

Like why does no one clock that none of the other girls come over to hang out or y know BE FRIENDS? Why is it such a one sided expectation?

I know they played base quest at Fitz house in the early books. And the Vackers invited everyone over for events. And then the light show. But like other than that Sophie is busy at working or just constantly filled to the brim with anxiety. And her friends don’t seem to come and casually hang out. They have a sweet connection but they also do have that work relationship as well.

And I do remember that all the side characters have their own lives going on. But that’s honestly another reason why no one is horrible here! Fitz and Biana stated dealing with their brother and their family, Dex before Stellerlune was getting trained and probably helping out his Dad, we know Marella has issue with her mom; very understandable, we don’t know what kinds stuff Marcus got going on.

I’m not using Keefe and Fitz cuz they actually spend time with her.

Marella has been on bs up until recently and has had a strained relationship with Sophie because of her nonsense. Marcua only came over to Sophie to be apart of the black swan and has never made an effort of being friends. Again correct me if I’m wrong. Lihn and the girls I just listed are clearly more of friends together than they are with Sophie.

These expectations and criticisms of Sophie not spending time with them and her treating them as their disposable is sooooooo freaking one sided. This is why they keep losing btw. Well actually there’s a lot more points to that but this is already MADDD long. Basically my point is that when they need to make moves and go on mission, they never get into full beast mode cuz everyone is so stuck on be inclusive like this fandom here on Reddit. Obviously they want to be as productive as possible but Sophie and the book note multiple times people want just to help her and the greater good. Which is sweet but unhelpful at the most times.

This is where comprehension of the relationships comes in yall. In their relationship that was basically mostly built off of “work” and this war. People and friends are unfortunately only going to pop up or be used WHEN NECESSARY??!! And I don’t even understand why people think it’s a bad thing or that they aren’t good friends. Could they be better friends if Sophie took more time with friends and vise verse? Yes! But unfortunately at this time this war is consuming their lives and they mostly meet up for work.

I don’t even think anyone is a bad friend to anyone. Except Stina. Hate that prickly loser immensely. And Marella and Maruca. I can be understanding of Marella but I still think she’s messy with Sophie. Sophie clocks hersled multiple times for this but I cannot hate her for it. Or blame her! I’d love to see some of yall in here CONSTANTLY be filled with anxiety, always thinking about what your not doing, how you know something bad is coming, never being able to keep searching cuz your enemy is too far ahead, being a leader of all this crap, being an emotional anchor for others (mainly Fitz and Keefe) dealing with the Black Swans and their wishy washy asses, SCHOOL whenever they can, and then interpersonal problems. As someone who literally didn’t start truly exercising interpersonal skills and development till a good portion of her adolescence was up.

GET OFF MY GIRLS ASS😭

And this topic is literally why I daydream and make fan art of Sophie have more quality time with the girls.

Hey Keepers! Wanted to do a art talk today.

I wanted to get your opinion on something. I usually always adore all the art we get and Shannon always finds the best artist that match the vibe of the series.

But the newest portrait of Marcua is bothering me a tiny bit because I feel like her black features were taken away a little.

I’m not sure why I’m complaining cuz there is nothing I can do it about lol.

But I’m staring at it and she feels off to me. Honestly tho I’ve sat for a minute to think about this and I guess it technically doesn’t matter if she has typical black features because she is an elf. So obviously when you get into fantasy races it’s silly to expect it to replicate human features. So I guess my little critique is pointless.

Her big lips are still sorta there but I could have sworn the last portrait I saw of her she had a bigger nose. And her skin was a tiny bit darker. But honestly as I’m writing this and looking at the photo it’s still a beautiful portrait.

Maybe I’m not in tune with the art style. And that’s okay.
