Anyone else having chicken go bad before best date?
My mom was nice enough to buy us chicken wings from Costco over the weekend (Sunday to be exact) with an expiry date of August 18th (today).
I went to look them for dinner at 5pm tonight and when I opened the package it smelled of rotten eggs and gas. I am so paranoid about chicken I threw them away, I have a 2 year old I do not ever want to chance getting food poisoning or salmonella and he loves chicken.
But is that not really fast for them to spoil? I've had this happen once before with Costco chicken I thought it was a one off. Usually we freeze right away but I thought I had time? What's the point of the damn date if it's wrong lol
Just wondering if I got unlucky or I'm dumb and should've froze them right away.
