Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Christmas everyone!

August 19th, and the advent calendars are back! Only have to wait 104 more days to open the first box. Thanksgiving? Halloween? Hah! Tis the season!

You can find these bad boys in the Vancouver location, and I'm sure coming (if not already there) to a local Costco near you.

Don't let them melt in the summer sun.

My new favorite quick and easy Costco meal, Fakey Butter Chicken

Obviously this is not super authentic but it still tastes really good, in my opinion, and is at least 90% of the way there to an actual Indian restaurant (YMMV, this is just what my Caucasian palate tells me). Haven't done the price per serving but can guarantee it's a lot cheaper than going out.

This is my post-costco go-to meal because it's so easy and delicious and the last thing I want to do after a hectic Costco trip is cook for an hour.

  1. KFI Butter Chicken sauce - 1 Jar, simmer in pot
  2. Rotisserie Chicken - 2 breasts, cubed, add to sauce to heat through. (I prefer white meat and skin removed for this dish).
  3. Skotidakis Tzatziki sauce - acts as Raita, I thin it out with a bit of milk/cream to desired consistency.
  4. Tandoori garlic naan - I like to heat these up in a pan for some crisp but a few seconds in the microwave is fine too.
  5. Kirkland basmati rice - to be honest though, I usually just do some Uncle Bens microwave basmati rice and it's just as good imo.

1 jar of KFI and 2 breasts yields about 4-5 portions handedly. If you use microwave rice, or have some pre-made, it can all be assembled in about ~5 minutes.

Hope you give it a try and let me know if you have any suggestions to make it even better. Cheers.

Someone walked off with our shopping cart!

I was looking at the (new?) chipotle cooked chicken when someone walked off with my shopping cart which was just behind me. It didn't have much in it, but it did have a bunch of reusable grocery bags. We later found the cart near a sample station with some other groceries added on but all our stuff still in there. Who just grabs a cart with stuff in it?!

Good lesson in being vigilant though.

Aura Frame: anyone spot these in Canada?

I've seen that Costco US carries the Aura digital frame - has anyone seen these in Canada, or know if we'll be getting them?
Thanks!

Edit: Looks like they're in Canada... anyone know if they're in Quebec? (Is the box bilingual? Thats the usual giveaway).

Anyone else having chicken go bad before best date?

My mom was nice enough to buy us chicken wings from Costco over the weekend (Sunday to be exact) with an expiry date of August 18th (today).

I went to look them for dinner at 5pm tonight and when I opened the package it smelled of rotten eggs and gas. I am so paranoid about chicken I threw them away, I have a 2 year old I do not ever want to chance getting food poisoning or salmonella and he loves chicken.

But is that not really fast for them to spoil? I've had this happen once before with Costco chicken I thought it was a one off. Usually we freeze right away but I thought I had time? What's the point of the damn date if it's wrong lol

Just wondering if I got unlucky or I'm dumb and should've froze them right away.

Kirkland Signature Fish Oil

Has anyone tried this? Would you recommend it? I hear a lot about fish oil being rancid or not pure.

Craving these guilty snacks

Been to Costco the last couple times and no longer see these in the freezer. If I knew they were going to discontinue them I would have grabbed a few more boxes!

They are some good and easy! Just pop them in the air fryer for 8min and it’s ready to go! Hot and crispy with gooey cheese. I throw a glob of honey yogurt on top for extra guilty pleasure. Help I’m having withdrawals!

Warehouse price vs. website price vs. Instacart price

I contacted Costco to get the warehouse price for an item (in Quebec), and the response was that they don't give prices over the phone. It's a bit absurd considering the online and Instacart prices aren't the same.

For example, I wanted the warehouse price for Simply Protein bars (18 bars). On the website: $26.99, on Instacart: $20.42 (on sale)... There's no way to see the warehouse price without driving 12 km...

Does anyone know the warehouse price for this product?

Thanks

Is anyone buying their Mounjaro at Costco in Ontario? How much are you paying for 15 mg?

How much does a 15 mg cost with the savings card? Mine is $480 at Rexall and wondering if I should switch pharmacies.

Best meatballs to go with RAO sauce?

Hi all. Has anybody tried any good frozen meatballs to go with RAO marinara sauce to make meatball pasta? I find it tiring to keep making my own meatballs and I want to try if frozen ones can be decent. Thanks!
