Another “WTF happened to the chicken strips” post.

Another “WTF happened to the chicken strips” post.

Saw another post on the topic here just now and it made me remember that I snapped this photo a week or so back when I was equally disappointed in the “new” chicken strip combo.

The package seems to have got smaller, the strips got smaller, and the amount of fries was honestly laughable - there was barely enough to even cover the bottom of the container. What the heck, they are french fries, potatoes are cheap, if they are going to cut the portion size on the chicken at least I have the decency to fill the gap with some additional fries.

What a disappointment now.

Entitled customers

Today I ordered my chicken strips and I sat down, ate half, as I got up to get a napkin and came back (no more than 30 seconds) a woman had thrown my pop, dirty napkins, fork knife, ketchup, gravy… all into my food, closed the box and sat there looking at me. I confronted her and she just said “too bad you left!” Her son came over. Cursed me out. I complained, the manager on duty and staff took my side and tried to get them to get me another meal, but failing that Costco just gave me a free chicken strips.

My husband brought me back chicken strips and ate the fries

*** EDIT : I didn’t want the fries. Just chicken. I ate 2 before posting this photo. Genuinely wanted to know if other locations serve nuggets instead of strips now ***

Willingdon, Burnaby BC location

Surprised the chicken strips look more like chicken nuggets🥲. Costco’s chicken strips are slowly becoming nuggets. Am I right? They used to be actual strips .. like 2 years ago

Are portions getting smaller and smaller? (Vaughan@427)

The chicken look like nuggets and the bed of fries are tiny. I understand it was kinda busy on a Wednesday at 7pm but this needs attention.

Love it!

My absolute favourite item from costco now! I’ve tried rhis brand before, but only the chicken one is available in other stores. For me, the beef is the winner. I served with my homemade bulgogi sauce

I grabbed this one just before the long weekend, but I’m definitely going to stock up and keep some in the freezer, because I’m afraid it might be seasonal only (hopefully not)

Face Care

Ladies of Costco Canada - I am in search lf the best face cream you can buy at costco for sensitive skin. Nothing super over priced, just some of value and cost effective. What do we suggest? Give me your best!

Anyone tried this… McRib?

Need more info! I think you cant cook it from frozen and must thaw it first. Aside from the fat and the sugar (which i should watch out for), how’s it taste?

Holy these nut bars are sooooo GOOOD

They are addictive and taste real good without having a metric ton of sugar. I used to eat them all the time ( idk why my parents had stopped buying them)

Produce

Yesterday while shopping, I overheard someone say, “I do not buy any of my produce at Costco”. How do you find their quality of produce? And where do you buy if not from Costco?

We ordered a deck box about a week ago. Today it is $60 off. Any recourse?

We got the Suncast extra large deck box last week, delivered through Costco. Now it is on sale $60 off. Is there a way to get this reduction applied to our purchase?

Update: thanks for your help. I submitted a request for refund.

The Good Protein

Just curious if anyone knows if Costco is done with The Good Protein or if it may come back at some point? Disappointed that I haven’t been able to find it the last 2 visits in Vancouver area!

Kirkland motor oil being discontinued? Anyone else hear anything about this?

I was reading here on reddit that with what’s going on in the world, there’s going to be a motor oil shortage. I was planning an oil change soon anyway so I figured I’d stop by Costco and pick some up.

While there today I only saw half a pallet of 5W-20 oil, no 5W-30 or 0W-20. Didn’t see anything on the top shelves either. I asked one of the workers up at the front and she said people have been asking all day, and that the oil is actually being discontinued. She checked online and said it’s not being listed under a new sku, and that whatever they have, that’s it. I checked online and don’t even see 0W-20 listed anymore. I’m hoping it’s not the case because it’s the best deal around for oil.

Has anyone else seen or heard anything about this?

Costco Etobicoke and North York

Has anyone seen Kirkland brand plain Greek yogurt at these locations?

I’m new to Costco and have checked both these locations. Neither had them.

Hotdog orders should be prioritised

I feel like the food court queue would move way faster if 1) they kept a buffer of 5-6 assembled hotdogs ready and 2) the employee managing the order slips would just reach over and hand out hotdogs whenever a hotdog order appears in the queue.

Like, while waiting for the other employees to make the chicken tenders or ice-cream cones etc, the employee at the front could be scanning the order queue and handing out hotdogs.

Then once people see that hotdog-only orders get served faster, more people would just get hotdogs and this would in turn speed up the queue for everyone else. A virtuous cycle!

Costco haul in Taiwan

Since we're all posting non-Canadian Costco photos... I thought I'd share how I (and many others) go Costco shopping in Taiwan.

Taiwan has the #2, #3, #4 and #5 highest revenue Costco warehouse locations in the world!

#1 is in Hawaii and #6 is in S. Korea.
