Drying out peppers?
I failed to tell the housesitter the (I thought) common-sense advice of "don't let the shishitos sit in standing water for days." They're still in red solo cups; I had her put them outside when the danger of frost finally passed, but left them inside a secondary plastic box to shield from weather. Didn't realize it had been raining. When I got back this evening, they'd been in 2-3" of water for who knows how long. 😬
I (gently) wrung the cups out like a sponge and have them drying over the sink; should I do anything else, or should they be good? Up until now they were super happy with lots of blossoms and even a few baby peppers. They still look pretty okay, I just don't want them drowning.
Zone 6b, if that matters.
