Where do I start

Alright. I keep buying beaters because that's all I can afford. Because Beaters need love. I wanted to improve my mechanical Knowledge.

Where do I start? Is there any shops like local that can help (obviously if they have the time) is there courses that are worth it?

Like right now i have a 2012 Nissan Altima. The transmission is definitely toast. It's my daily for a few more weeks till hopefully I can replace it for another beater. Basically it won't shift. When it does shift I get stuck in like 5th-6th gear and will have no power at a red light when it turns green. I just crawl it to a parking lot. Turn it off for 10 mins. And go again 🤣 (not my advice just what I was told to do for a temp fix)

Now if im going this route I bekieve it's best for me to improve my Mechanical Knowledge past Changing Tires and Oil changes because that's all I know how to do.

I am Located In alberta Canada.
