[DE] I really hate Revolut’s recurring payment prediction feature.
I love Revolut as an everyday banking solution. It makes organising payments, sending and receiving money, and daily banking really easy. The product is great, the Metal perks are good, and sending money to my family is cheap.
But I really hate their scheduled payments prediction feature.
It is one of the most confusing parts of the product, and honestly it adds no real value. Instead, it makes banking harder. Here’s why:
- Sometimes I only paid for something for 2 months, or I have irregular direct debit mandates, but Revolut still shows them as recurring payments twice in a month.
- I pay some subscriptions every month, but sometimes the merchant name changes slightly or includes an old name in brackets. Revolut then counts it as a second recurring payment.
- I stopped paying one service 2 months ago, but it still appears in the forecast. At the same time, I have another active recurring payment to the same vendor, so now I cannot tell which one is real. I even created a Pocket just for this payment.
All of this is extremely confusing. Sometimes I forget to put money into the correct Pocket because I assume the forecast is wrong again, but then it turns out to be a real direct debit from the vendor.
I really hate this feature.
Honestly, I’m getting close to moving all of my recurring payments to another bank.
EDIT: I'm talking here about recurring payments (direct debit collections), such as bill payments and installment payments, not about subscriptions. Subscriptions detections works well.
