First time applying for EI as a teacher.

Was just told by my district that I wouldn’t be getting a roe as I’m not eligible for EI. From January-April I was a TOC then took on a mat leave assignment until the end of the year. I will be going back to the same school for a .8 FTE next year.

When applying for EI I put the FTE position as my last job but apparently since I am returning to another contract position I’m not able to?

im super confused how I’m not able to have any EI over the summer. It sounds like if I stayed a TOC it would be a non issue.

please fill me in on what I’m missing. I looked over the CRA page for specific conditions for contract teachers but it may as well been in another language.
