This is my first time booking Amtrak and I’m a bit confused. I want to take a trip from Salt Lake City to Chicago and then straight back so I don’t have to leave the train. I plan on getting a roomette.

How do I go about booking this? Is it a round trip on two separate dates or do I just do it on the same day and ride the same train back?

I’m sorry if this is a silly question it’s just my first time and I don’t know how to navigate the UI.
