Transition from Work and Holiday to Young Professionals as a Spanish citizen.
Good afternoon everyone,
I'm looking for your help because I currently live in Canada on a Working Holiday visa that expires in October of this year. The thing is, I'd like to stay for another year and I've read that there's the option of applying for a Young Professionals permit. I already have my invitation and my employer is ready to offer me a job. At this point, I've run into the problem of the three-month waiting period. I have several questions about this. First, is this a requirement for the Young Professionals permit itself to be approved, or is it a requirement that the three months have passed before it can be activated at the border? Secondly, is this a practical requirement? Because I've also read that sometimes they ignore it. And lastly, if the requirement is real, what options do I have to wait those three months and stay in Canada while I work? Someone told me I could try applying for a Working Holiday extension to buy time, but I don't know if that works... Thanks a million in advance, any information will be a great help.
