We must remember that she has only transitioned race in the last few years. She and her husband grew up with extreme white privilege. They still behave that way.

Privilege is a funny old thing. It’s not really a black or white issue because nowadays many people of all races are blessed with privilege.

On the one hand you can use it for self entitlement, enrichment and belittlement of others.

On the other hand you can use it in a benevolent, nurturing and inspiring way. You can use your experience to help other people navigate their path by sharing your experience and knowledge gracefully.

A fine example of this is Doctor Sophie Chandauka who I assume grew up with some level of privilege. She used that privilege to better herself, get educated and be someone in the world on her own merits. After that she decided to dedicate her life to the betterment of young innocent lives. That is so noble. She has passed the gifts of her experienced privilege forward.

There are oodles of examples of people like her but she was the first one that came to mind as I’m writing this.

I do believe in redemption and rehabilitation. For everyone, also for Meghan. However, then you have to put in a shed load of work, starting with humility. Admit you’ve been a horror and terror to the people around. Make reparations, apologize for the hurt you’ve caused and truly change your behavior. You can’t cosplay it.

I can’t say whether Meghan would actually do it but she could change the whole direction her life is moving in. The option is always there. Go away for a couple of years and learn grace, humility and gratitude. Then she’d be rich beyond her wildest dreams.
