I’m deciding between weight 5 and 6 yarn. Also trying to decide how much of the two colors I should buy so I don’t run out. Any thoughts?

So I bought a lot of different color yarn when I was starting out crocheting, which I didn’t understand at the time that that wasn’t very useful. Any idea of what I can make with these? Trying to get rid of them for space.

Terrible photo, but I’m trying to recreate this top I saw in a thrift store. I see the granny squares but what are the other two different stitches below that? I tried googling but I couldn’t find a specific identifier. Anyone help me out?
