For the record, I rarely drink. Socially, I’ll have a pint or two a month, but could easily and happily not. I go out to get proper pissed maybe twice a year on planned occasions with friends. I started titration on 30mg of elvanse and today was day 5. Tomorrow happens to be a day of the year where we’re going out for the afternoon/evening.

My psychiatrist did tell me that he recommends taking the meds five days a week and stopping at weekends or if I go on holiday and don’t need or want them. Does that count through titration or once you’re more stable? Just wondering how it would affect me seeing as the first three days I had a headache and dry mouth. It seemed better yesterday on day 4, and all ok today on day 5. Is skipping a day this early in going to kick those symptoms up again on Monday?

For the record it’s not going to be a stupidly heavy one, but maybe 5 or 6 pints

Recently diagnosed with ADHD-C and started titration on 30mg elvanse on Tuesday (day 3 today). On day one like most people say, my head just felt a lot calmer and I actually did a few jobs that I’ve been putting off. Later that evening I had a tension headache and that has stuck with me until today. I will add that I do normally have a bad diet. I don’t usually eat breakfast and have pretty unhealthy lunch and dinner with snacks of crisps and stuff in between. The fact that since I took my first dose, I have not touched anything like that, means obviously the headaches will be a lot related to that too. I’ve done it in the past where I’ve cut all rubbish out and I get the same headache for a few days. I’ve been drinking about 3 or 4L of water a day with electrolytes and I’m going for wee every half an hour… Still got dry mouth. I have tried to search on here but there’s a lot of answers that relate to slightly different scenarios or questions and timelines to mine.

When do the headaches usually go away and does the dry mouth ever go away?

I’ve not felt any other effects yet like motivation or quieter head like on day one . Is this expected to build through the 30mg titration period or not until the dose is upped?

I was also told by my psychiatrist that he recommends people to take it five days a week and have weekends off, especially if they are planning to drink or if they’re going on holiday. How is this possible when it clearly takes awhile for your body to get through the first week or so? Does it not just take it back to day one if you do that?
