Window Explore keep freezing/not responding when open a folder
Hi, I'm not really good at tech stuff, but I'm facing some issue hope to get some pointer/suggestion on how to resolve it from you guys.
I had plugged in external hard disk via USB to my laptop, I tried to cut and paste (yeah I think this should be a mistake instead of using copy) a lot of folder from my local device (laptop) to the external hard disk. During the operation it shows that there is an error encounter while moving 1 of the file, then I tried and cancel the operation and some how it seems stuck on the cancelling around like 1 hour. I though the window explore is not responding and then did not think much straight force restart the laptop.
After laptop is restarted and boot back, I tried to open back the hard disk partition drive (not sure is it how it called), it like suddenly freeze or not responding state and it took around like 5 minutes to load and open a folder inside that partition. Althought I test on my C: drive there is no issue on it.
I had tried to google it the issue, it said seems like my hard disk had corrupted file inside in it? and was suggest to do disk checking in the CMD using this commands "chkdsk X: /f/ /r". My hard disk is 2TB and I see there is only 10+Gb of stuff is inside the hard disk, is it normal that disk checking too more than 12 hours to run it.
My real question is:
If the file inside the hard disk is really corrupted, is there any ways to recover back? Because it seems like I did a st*pid decision by not using 'copy' instead of 'cut' when there is no any backup for that folder.
