On the Talking Sopranos podcast, David Chase says the show didn’t get darker, but Gandolfini did
This seems to be in direct conflict with what most people think about that last season, and I agree that it very obviously got darker.
This is just one of a few things I feel like Chase has said that kinda downplays what Gandolfini was going through during the shooting of the Sopranos, but that’s a post for another day.
Do you agree with him that the season itself didn’t get darker? He seems to be annoyed that people take that away from S6.
