Painting plastic bumpers

Hi all,

I am trying to sell my car and it needs some paintwork done. Unfortunately I cannot afford to take it to a professional as I simply dont have the money for it.

I practiced a bit on a separate car part and I believe I got the basic idea down. Unfortunately I cannot move on with the work because I dont know yet the car's color code. The drivers side frame does not mention the color code but I will try and take it to a professional color mixer and see if they can help me out.

I had a white color paint bottle and thats what I trained with once I prepared the part surface. I notice that the surface does not have the same glossiness as my car has. Initially I applied paint in thinner layers and this made it only slightly glossy. Then I tried applying it in a thicker layer, enough so that the paint does not drip. This looked a more shiny but still far away from what my car has.

My question, if I get the right color mix... will that fix the issue or is it about how the paint is applied that will make the surface finish so shiny? What control do I have over this?

I tried using laquer and it didnt change much.

I know the last stage would be waxing and this could help a bit but I am hoping to learn about other approaches.

Much appreciated for any input.

Selling my car

Its my first time selling a car and I would like some pointers on how to sell it to get the most out of the sale. Any pointers are wellcome.

What is the best way of finding out what damages did the car suffer? This car had 2 owners before me. I want to find out what damages it suffered so I am better prepared for the sale.

Disposing an inflatable airbed

I have an airbed which is a bit suboptimal(It is not entirely flat anymore. It got to a stagr that it has a pillow. After further use eventually the whole thing will become a huge blob and the only thing you could use it for is taking it to an aquapark).

I was thinking to give it to a homless person but lately I have not seen anyone around. If I give it to someone who might need it I am worried that once its unusable they will just dispose it incorrectly.

Any other suggestions?

Need some guidance to better sell myself to hiring managers

Hi all,

I have been applying since half a year now and did get a couple of screening interviews but I never managed to get to the next stage. I know that this is partially because I become very anxious during the interview. I dont want mess it up and because of this l struggle to get my ideas across.

At first I rushed with my elevator pitch and maybe summed it uo in 10-15 seconds which is not enough. Now I slowed a bit down but still not up to par.

I know I am selling myself short, however when I think back I struggle to come up with a list of things that I have achieved during my previous jobs(in Manufacturing). What I mean here is that usually it was in collaboration with others and collectively we achieved X, Y and Z targets. Its very daunting because now I cannot mention stuff because others have chipped in. This is what I dont get at all, they want us to be collaborative and teamplayers but then they want us to mention things that we did per say using "I" statements.

Can you please give some pointers on how to go about finding these strengths of mine that I could mention in these interviews(I know only I know what I done but I am hoping there is a practical way about it)? What questions should I ask myself to get to these answers. Can you recommend any books which help with this?

I am a bit desperate because I was unsuccessful on 3-5 screening interviews for companies that I really wanted to work for. I know the job market is at an all time low at the moment but I know I could improve on many areas.

Also, often they ask situational questions to see my train of tought. Because I am not used to think out loud, especially not when I have spectators, how do you prepare for this?

Please, give me some guidance so I can start improving on these things. Thank you!
