Glitter paint
I come from r/guitar, with a question: does anyone here master the glitter flakes paint? I want to refinish a guitar in this fashion. Pretty hard to find good material about it. It seems to be quite difficult.
Metalic paint got black pieces inside.

Hey so I bought metalic paint, 1:1 with the thinner.
Started spraying, boom black pieces on the paint. Small but still there. Cleaned the gun, etc. Still did it.
I tried to filter the paint though 3 filters and here's what they got. After putting the paint in gun, it still had these pieces. What do I do? Is it just old paint?
Hi, how can I remove the yellow paint spots from my car paint?
How do I remove this wall paint of the car lol
I bought the car of an elderly couple and they painted the car with wall paint or some sorts. (With a brush). How do I get it off? I tried with paint thinner/ solvent. Didn’t work out
What am I doing wrong?
I bought a single seat cowl for my FZR and it needed panting black to match the bike’s factory paint.
I sanded it down with varying grades of paper, finishing with 1200 wet and dry.
Primered it, sanded again.
Used gloss black metallic spray paint.
Then used gloss clear coat:
It just looks matt, despite the gloss paint, and gloss clear coat.
What am I doing wrong?
How to restore the clear coat?
Used a high pressure washer a couple of years ago and stripped what I think is the clear coat on my Toyota. I'm planning on selling the car soon. I took it to a dealership and the appraiser made it sound like a big deal ($2K job). How can I fix this?
If it helps - the area has not expanded due to the elements since I stripped it 2 Years/10K miles ago. Tysm!
Car interior cleaning
It’s been a while since I got my car cleaned. Can anyone suggest me some car interior cleaning services. I need a very detailed interior car cleaning near McKinney also how much do they charge??
Help to Remove Scratches from Matte Finish
Any insight on how to remove these scratches from my motorcycle fairings would be greatly appreciated.
"Touch up" paint application
Preface: I have no idea what I'm doing.
Trying to repair a nickel-size rust spot on a motorcycle fender. I removed the rust and cleaned slightly past the area down to bare metal. Applied a few coats of primer and now trying to work on the base coat, but I cannot lay it down smoothly with the supplied brushes (obviously), but sanding it smooth after a few coats isn't working because the area is slightly convex and always end up removing too much paint in the center of the area.
Would it be better to use something like a small airbrush to apply the paint instead? Also going to apply clearcoat as well. What's the best way to sand a convex surface to "blend" the layers before polishing etc..?
Like I said, I don't really know what I'm doing and I know it's not going to look perfect but due to the location of the repair, "good enough" is fine and figured I'd give it a go myself.
I think I've been too harsh on myself when factory can't get it right...
Wow, I can't believe this got approved by the advertising department!
Any idea how much to fix this rust on a dodge?
Appreciate the help.
Am I rightfully upset by this job?
Paid $900 for this paint job on my jeep. The job was for the hood and also the door blended to the fender, which was new. When I first got it back there was a fking mosquito in the clear coat and all over there was haze from what I assume was a sanding attempting to get rid of bubbles before it was cured.
Took it back a month later (he asked to let it cure) to have him buff out the issues. Originally he was going to respray the hood entirely but ended up buffing out the bug. In the process left behind a million swirls, pigtails, and scuffs. Additionally he replaced my windshield nozzles and destroyed the new clear coat around the nozzles.
After picking up the car (dirty) I washed it and was just like wtf is this? The door wasn't even buffed out like he said he'd do and the overall job was ass. After sending a text with photos addressing these issues he's ghosting me for 3 days and I'm considering getting estimates from local shops and just taking him to small claims for the damage.
I was able to fix most of the superficial scratches with a 2 step polishing but the pigtails would require wet sanding.
What's everyone's take, is this a $900 job, did i get what I paid for? the guy has 30+yrs experience.
First time painting clearcoat tips
This is my first time painting as I figured I might aswell learn the skills and quickly learned that the painting part is pretty easy but the clear coat is what kicks the ass. Predictably I’m getting a decent but not awful orange peel and have one more bumper I need to paint for my buddy. Any tips on how to get a better finish from the sprayer. Keep in mind I’m using a $50 Amazon gun so I know it’ll only get so far. I plan on letting this cure for a couple days then hitting with 1.5k,2k,3k wet sand (PS. I’m only worried abt how the clear coat sprayed on, not the screw up in bodywork in the second pic)
Second time I've ever used a sprayer on a part
Honestly I'm really pleased with how this came out. It's by no means perfect, and I even accidentally sanded through the paint in one spot, but I do feel like overall this was a success!
First time I ever sprayed I did a horrific primer job out of a can, and then went too light on the clear and wound up with a result that looked sandy and inconsistent. This time around I went extra heavy, made sure to keep a wet edge, and really paid attention to how stuff was laying.
My big takeaways have been to pay extra attention to any crowns on what I'm spraying, move a lot slower than I think I need to, and figure out an even better booth solution than what I came up with. The one thing I need to really work on? Orange peel. I got it mostly out with sanding, but boy did that take a lot of time.
I do fear improvement is going to plateau from here 😅

Fresh clear coat peeling off like a sheet
I've been working on fixing up my 2013 Camaro bumper and everything had been progressing about as good as I could have expected, until the clear coat that looked oh so good started to peel up like a clean sheet. 48+ hours after the clear had been sprayed, I was masking off to touch up the bottom of the bumper, I had sprayed that s matte black. This is when I noticed the peel coming up with the tape. Seems like it didn't bind with the base coat of paint. What can I do to prevent this from happening again?
I had fixed up a few cracks and dents with body filler and glaze, sanded them down smooth with 320, scuffed up the rest of the bumper and sprayed a filler primer. Used DipliColor perfect match aerosol ain't and spray painted and finally spraymax 2k clear coat.
2 months with my 26 rav4 xse storm cloud and my neighbors kid got into the garage with a bike and scratched it, it’s about 3-4 inches long. Does Toyota sell touchup paint for this? I tried looking online and Toyota didn’t seem to have it online for storm cloud color.
Paint question
Am in the prepping stage of painting my car, when I got the vehicle it had been primed with an acrylic primer ( not 2k) paint shop told me you cannot base and clear 2k over non 2k primer.
What should I do? Remove existing primer and re-prime with 2k?
Paint base and clear acrylic over existing?
Hope that made sense
