Help — Rotten Tooth?
Looking for any advice regarding this weird black spot I noticed in my dogs mouth.
For context — River is a 7 month old male iggy and I brush his teeth every day. For the past couple months, his breath has been pretty foul but I chalked it up to normal teething breath since it smelled mostly metallic and he was at that age. Then about a week ago I noticed what looks like a rotten spot in his teeth and I’m wondering if that’s why his breath has been bad.
I took him to the vet today and she recommended doing an x-ray and possible extraction of the tooth on the same day as his neuter since he’ll already be under. She couldn’t confirm what the exact issue is, but thinks it looks like either an extra tooth that shouldn’t be there or a retained baby tooth. Obviously super hard to diagnose via a photo, but wanted to see if anyone had insight or advice. Thanks!!
