Anybody drill their own equipment at home?

Curious how many out there drill their own equipment.

I've been considering drilling my own moving forward. For me the problem is that the nearest qualified pro shop is over an hour drive, each way, from my house. Besides being far away, the hours are limited and every time I go they're swamped. I have no interest in drilling balls for other people. Just want to mimic existing drillings.

I have a drill press in my basement. Figure all I'd need that I don't already have would be an XY bed, and a plug cutter. Plug cutter would be the most expensive tool I don't have at about $170. I'm sure I could make a jig to secure the ball to the XY bed. Mimicking the pitch angles of holes in existing balls I'm happy with would be a very simple process. Being in no hurry working at home it could be as simple as using a chucked drill bit and an existing ball to get the ball jig positioned perfectly one hole at a time. The next time I see a cheap ball at a yard sale or thrift shop I'm going to buy it to do some experimenting.

Two Pair TV Format

Was I the only one who loved the Two Pair TV format of yesterday's telecast? To me that is so much better than the single pair stepladder format we usually see. To me this was much more entertaining to watch. Thoughts?
