How relevant would a Bioinformatics degree be in preparing someone for a CS PhD?

I'm currently planning out some future degree options. I'm very interested in both Biology and Computer Science, so I figured Bioinformatics would be a good compromise between the two.

However, I'm worried that being in Bioinformatics would make me far too specialized and limit my opportunities overall.

Would you suppose that if I got a MS in Bioinformatics, I'd be still set up well to continue towards a PhD in CS?

I know a CS degree can reasonably branch into Bioinformatics, but is the inverse true? Or would I be setting myself up for failure?

Thoughts on dual-majoring Computer Science and Data Science?

I am interesting both in computer science and data science bachelor degrees.

I wanted to ask anyone familar with these degrees, is there much overlap in the curriculum? Would it be very difficult to dual-major them? I should have my GE and some basic math and computer classes already covered via transferable units, so I thought I might have a chance to do both classes if they somewhat overlap.

I love the idea of the Data Science for it's relevance to Bioinformatics, but if it ends up being way too much work for both, I'd probably just stick with Computer Science.
