Ear/Neck/Throat Connected Pain. Now Going On 3 Days. I’m Miserable. Please Help Me.
This is a repost since I didn’t get any responses on another subreddit. I’m so miserable and I can’t sleep from the pain. 17F, i’m 5”7 and unsure of my weight. If I had to guesstimate, 185 lbs.
3 days ago, I woke up to excruciating pain from my inner ear drum all the way down to the base of my neck. It’s hard to pinpoint where all the pain is coming from since it’s radiating almost everywhere, and it came almost out of nowhere. I circled the entire area where it generally is. I don’t have any tonsils, but I do have my wisdom teeth still. I don’t think it’s a dental problem, but i’m including it just in case.
It hurts to swallow when i’m looking face forward, but when I look down slightly it doesn’t hurt. No NSAIDs are helping with the pain in any sort of way, nor magnesium. Both me and my father felt around for any swollen lymph nodes, but neither of us could feel anything that was swollen on my neck. My temperature feels slightly warm. I’ve never experienced anything like this, nor did I injure or pull anything in the past weeks leading up to the first day this pain started.
When I massage my right ear, I can hear popping. I cannot hear this popping in my left ear.
I have done a nasal rinse, gargled salt water, started taking magnesium, and even cleared out said ear with hydrogen peroxide to see if it was a blockage of earwax or an infection. It gave my ear some relief for a few hours, then went back to throbbing in pain. It’s entirely on my right side and unbearable. The only reason I haven’t gone into the doctor is due to the fact I start my first job tomorrow - after that, I plan on arranging a visit with urgent care.
