First dishcloth — is it a blocking or tension issue?
Hi all,
So glad I found this community.
I’m 44F, and just started learning to crochet in the last few months to help with anxiety etc. My nana who raised me used to crochet all sorts of things for me. She passed away many years ago, and I wish she was still here to share this new hobby with.🥹
I’ve done a Wooble, and have been practicing my stitches every night after work. I finally forced myself to complete my first “real” project. I actually made two of these dishcloths. The one pictured is the second one, and it came out much better than the first.
I used stitch markers and counted stitches after each row, but it still looks a bit wonky. Is it my tension, or do I just need to getting blocking supplies? (I sprayed water on this, and tried to shape it a few days ago, but didn’t use pins or anything like that.) The yarn is Crafter’s Secret Cotton, which I didn’t love btw. Acrylic seemed so much easier. 😅
I’d like to start making baby blankets for coworkers, but wonder if I should practice specific skills before taking on a bigger project.
Thank you for any advice you may have. 🫶
