I began crocheting two weeks ago and finally worked up to doing my first granny square (haven't blocked it yet) . How did I do?

I can’t tell if it’s cute or ugly or cute ugly? It’s not completely done yet - I was planning on adding a few single crochet rows in the neckline to tighten it up and then a single crochet border at the bottom with tassels. However I lowkey hate how it looks and I don’t think adding those will help. I can’t tell if it’s the stiffness of the yarn I hate? Maybe that it’s too big?

What would you think to do next if you made this and struggled to like how it looked? I thought maybe I could sew the two arm squares to make arm holes and that would at least tighten it up a little but then that kinda defeats the purpose of it being a pancho? Maybe I just need to wash and dry it to let the yarn settle? Maybe there’s nothing wrong with it and I’m just overthinking lol

Any ideas would be welcome! This is my first time ever free handing a project (and my first time making a pancho) so I’m just trying to see what my options could be and if there’s anything I’m not thinking of trying.

Yarn is lion brand wool ease thick and quick if that helps

I just finished the main portion of this blanket and I'm indecisive on whether or not to add a border. MIL knows about the blanket, as it's something she asked me to make. Even bought the yarn she wanted (Caron Cloud Cakes perfect phasing). She has no opinion either way about adding a border or not.

My husband says no border. My best friend, who taught me how to do c2c, says yes. Since it's a tie, I came here.

If you vote yes to the border, should I:

A) continue with where I left off in the color phase as I haven't cut the yarn yet, but risk having a light beginning meeting a darker end

-OR-

B) cut the yarn, weave in more ends (wooo....), and do the border starting in black? I included a pic of the yarn I have left.

Edit to add option C) buy another cake to do the border with 2 strands, one as a center pull and one as an outer pull

These slippers were given to us back in the 90s and trying to recreate these now that I got into crochet recently, I didn’t know the original maker as she passed before I was even born. My family says she didn’t knit and the rest of these slippers are for sure crochet stitches but this just seems like a knit stitch. Could anybody possibly tell what stitch this sole lining was made with?

It's the blue/green color. I am almost out of this color, and I really want to be able to finish this blanket the way I am picturing it in my head. I need to order more, but I can't color match it for the life of me! I think it is either red heart or lion brand. It's probably pretty old, the woman still had skeins of yarn in Ames bags from the 90s! I know for sure that it is not "real teal" by red heart. If anyone could help me I would be so appreciative!

like the caption says, i got hold of a very old book by a crochet instructor full of crochet pieces that were used as examples to choose from

most of them are filet crochet and i can mostly figure out how it would be done

but i’m very confused about these two. what kind of stitch is the curved part on the first picture?
the part on the second picture that looks somewhat like a net is confusing as well.

are they even crochet? those parts don’t look like any crochet stitches i’m aware of but the rest does

on the net part i can’t even identify individual stitches in general, it looks more like a continuous string that was sewn into that position. but that doesn’t really add up to everything else looking like crochet

I am planning to make this top and I don’t know what kind of yarn I can use to give me this look of baggy on the top.
I’d also not want it to be warm and prickly on the skin.
Can anyone help me out for this as I’m not too sure of types of yarns to use?

Doodad pattern from Hooked on Sunshine. This is my 3rd time through rows 16-30. Everything has fit together just fine on previous rounds.

I have the correct number of 3dc clusters (in white). When I did the hdc's (in beige), the row was rippling like there were too many stitches. So I made 2 hdc's in the ch2 spaces but skipped every 3rd hdc. Now my shells only have 5 dc's instead of the 7 they're supposed to have. Still rippling like theres too many stitches.

Help, please. Its not fun anymore and I was really enjoying working on this

I got this yarn with no label at a thrift store. I would love to make myself a hat with it. I think it is lightweight, I used a 1.25 mm hook to get this DC rectangle, and I’m pretty sure it is all acrylic.

I don’t know who’s to describe the mix of colors- it reminds me of rag wool socks.

Does anyone recognize it?

Somebody sent me this as inspo for the face cover of a mask. Im specifically not sure if the border around the eyes, the bean shape, and crisp border can be done with crochet. Worried it might be AI and undoable. Experienced crocheters, please help!

Hello guys, I just really want this teddy to look more like this dog but I'm not sure what techniques to use! I have tried needle felting to add hair here and there for different tones etc and I know I need to groom it a lot better and add hair to the ears etc but something is just not sitting right with me about it, other than cleaning it up and adding some grey to his chest what else can I do? I know the nose is not perfect it's a bit too triangular but it's the 5th attempt and I think it's going to be the best I can do 😅

I don’t understand why my edges are wavy. The stitch count is correct. I am chaining 2, turning, and going into the first stitch at the start of each new row. I don’t hate how it looks but I’d like it to be straighter.
