Retirement Shadowbox Humidor
A friend of mine is retiring after 23 years and asked if I would build him a shadow box. He had to make it complicated and wanted a humidor that pops out with no hardware. I used Blum Tip-ons to make that happen.
Box joints and mortise tenons make up the construction of the shadow box portion. The mortises were cut on a mortising machine and cleaned up with chisels/router plane. The box joints were cut on the router table using Rocklers XL box joint jig.
The shadow box is cherry and the humidor is cherry and walnut with a Spanish cedar lining. It has imbedded magnets for mounting humidity packs and the hygrometer.
