New world Cameroon
First time with this cigar, heard great things.
Lucky cigar?
Haven't seen one with the band upside down before. Must be lucky. Looking forward to working through this pack.
Hi, this is an EPC Maduro Toro (length: 6 inches/ring gauge: 52), along with a cup of coffee and a Guinness. Cheers!
Celebrated Mom’s 65th with a 2001 Cuban Montecristo “A”
Rarest cigar I’ve smoked yet, Montecristo A Cuban Gran Corona (47 ring gauge × 235mm, or 9.25 inches)
An amazing 2.5 hours smoke with Mom in Arizona.
Would you be concerned about this?
This opus x was in my humidor for a month or two I reckon. Today I noticed a greenish/blue splotch on it. No fuzz though. I started to panic and thought, I better smoke this so it doesn’t go bad. Is it mold? The spot is above the band toward the cap.
Montecristo 1935 anniversary
Been waiting to smoke one of these! So nice today this will be my third cigar, my absolute limit.
Macro shots of a Padron 2000 Maduro
Had some time after a photo shoot for a client, so I decided to take a few macro shots of a Padron 2000 Maduro to show some details people don't normally get to see. The first photo is the foot at 1x magnification, followed by a cross section at 1x. The third is a crop of the cross section, the fourth shows the wrapper at 5x magnification, and the last photo is me enjoying the cigar after the shoot.
What are you closing Sunday with
Have to finish the weekend with a strong and tasty undercrown
My first Lancero.
I'm now determined to find this vitola for some of my other favorites. This thing was just absolutely perfect.
So good I had to nub it.
La Aroma de Cuba original blend, Toro. My first timr trying anything from the brand. It's one of the few times I had to bring out the nubber.
Cigar of the day
I’m new to cigars, this is my third ever cigar. I really enjoy chocolate undernotes and this one is nice. This is probably a beginner cigar, do you have any recommendations?
Spice rack
Relatively novice cigar smoker. Love the Padron 26 and Liga no 9, I’ve been stalking this thread for a while, looking for recommendations and this is what I came up with. Any other suggestions or feedback on these choices would be appreciated. I tried to go for a variety pack of pepper sticks.
Plasencia Alma Fuerte
Another banger! But I still preferred the alma de fuego much more.
Cheers y’all!
Are these a good smoke?
I know nothing about cigars. My father recently passed and I found a box of these in the closet...are they any good?

Plasencia Alma del Fuego Candente Review

Rested: 80 Days at 65% RH, 67°F
Smoke Time: About 1 hour 10 minutes
Cut: V-Cut
This is a cigar I'd been curious about for quite a while. Based on the flavor profile I expected, I wasn't sure it would be a natural fit for my palate, but Plasencia has earned a great reputation and I wanted to find out for myself.
The cigar made a great first impression. The wrapper was absolutely gorgeous with a rich reddish hue, plenty of oil, and excellent construction. The cold draw was outstanding, reminding me of cherry syrup and immediately raising my expectations.
After lighting, the cherry disappeared and the cigar settled into a much more savory profile than I expected. The opening was driven by red pepper, clean tobacco, earth, and a touch of cream with only subtle sweetness. The retrohale was flavorful without being overwhelming, carrying a lingering red pepper spice that left a pleasant tingle on my tongue rather than burning my sinuses.
The second third was the best part of the cigar. As the pepper backed off, the blend became richer and more balanced. I started picking up light graham cracker sweetness, a little oak, cream, and what I'd describe as vegetal earth. The sweetness remained subtle, but it helped round out the profile enough to make the cigar noticeably more enjoyable than the first third.
The final third continued with the vegetal earth as the dominant flavor along with clean tobacco and subtle sweetness. The profile stayed balanced and never became harsh, but it also didn't introduce any major new flavors before the finish.
Primary Notes: Vegetal earth, clean tobacco, red pepper, light cream, subtle graham cracker sweetness, oak
Strength: Medium-Full
Construction: Excellent. Beautiful oily wrapper with a striking reddish hue, solid draw, even smoke production, and an enjoyable retrohale throughout.
Final Verdict: This is a very well-made cigar that I completely understand and respect, even if I don't think I'll crave it. The profile is much more savory than sweet, emphasizing clean tobacco, earth, and pepper with restrained sweetness rather than the richer dessert-like flavors I usually gravitate toward. I enjoyed it more as it progressed, especially once the spice settled down, and I'd happily smoke another one. It just isn't likely to become one of the cigars I reach for when I want a truly memorable experience.
