I have an old whirlpool duet ht that came with my house.

We keep it pretty clean, the gasket is ok, but when I run a cleaning cycle (1 cup of citric acid crystals in sanitize mode) I notice it foaming and bubbling.

I know that under no circumstances will citric acid foam, so it must be leftover detergent.

Whatever, I’ll do it again and it’ll be clean. Wrong.

I’m on my third cleaning cycle, I’ve gone through a ton of citric acid, and each time the water bubbles and foams like there’s detergent in it.

At 2 hours or more a cycle, how many times do I do this before it runs clean or I give up?
