My perfect "routine" smoke.
Spent the summer trying a lot of different stuff, but keep coming back to these for my Saturday morning dump runs, or random weekday after dinner smokes.
Anyone else a fan? love the box press and robusto size.

I've seen some version of this pop up here and there. Something gets messed up and the seller's solution is "I'll put it in your box next show" or "Buy something next show and I'll take care" or some version of this.
I finally ran into this myself a few weeks ago when I got a two item bundle for essentially the price of one. Package comes in and instead of the two items, there's one and a different item with an attempt at a cute note stating he lost the other one and hopes this is a fair replacement. It was not a fair replacement, it was a fairly different item, and worth about a third of the original.
I put in a support request. Should I have reached out directly? Idk maybe, but he already acknowledged he fucked up and didn't reach out to discuss in the first place. Anyway he comes back with a long pissed off rant that I'm just trying to get cheap stuff, he could send me something else, but he thought it fair to send something worth what I paid and if I would have reached out he would have told me he found the item and would put in my box next show.
Am I off base thinking that's absolutely absurd? You messed up, I shouldn't have to buy something and pay more shipping to make it right. And to say "i replaced it with something worth what you paid", no if anything you replace with something that's actually worth the original item, but even that you don't do without asking.
Anyway, just curious what other's thoughts are on the whole "I'll fix it next show" nonesense.
We've always avoided these due to the set up of our house(multiple floors, pet gates and weird thresholds), but with current tech my wife really wants a vacuum/mop combo.
I'm so new to this I don't know where to start. Google just gives you a bunch of different "lists" that are all so different... Hoping to keep it below 1000. House is mostly hardwood floors.
If so I kinda hate it, if not how do I tighten it(doesnt seem to be a screw or anything)?
I recently bought a new JDM Zillion HD. Depending on where the T'wing is on a cast it sort of clicks/rattles. And sometimes while reeling when it hits one end or the other it clicks. If its a minor annoyance than whatever, but if it should be fixed then I'd like to do so!
Lifelong Shimano guy, but figured I can't go my whole life without fishing a Daiwa so here we are! Can't wait to spool it up with some nice braid and mount it on my Levante Perfect Pitch for some frogging and flipping fun!
May even toss the KGB Lil guy around on it.
Been a few years, and even then of the many times I think only once was a weekend(and it was a sunrise hike). My oldest is finally asking to do it now that we've done a bunch this summer, but his biggest concern is what time we need to wake up... we're only an hour away, but it is a good question.
I love me some princess parking...
I love braid. I feel like it greatly enhances the Baitcaster experience. Between castability, smoothness, dependability and just the connection you feel to your lure with braid. At this point I almost exclusively use braid(except for my big bait rod, and early early spring late late fall I'll spool a reel up with fluoro).
I've tried so many different braids the past year and a half or so as the obsession really took off, however I hate throwing anything over 40 pounds. My favorite things quickly go away as the line feels more and more ropey. Why am I going to put 50lb rope on a zillion(HD)? Thats like putting off road tires on a corvette. Even putting it on my Lew's SP flipping reels feels awful. Recently I tossed some 30lb smackdown on my frog/flipping rod, and I have had absolutely zero issues, and it got me wondering if the whole line dig concern is overblown.
I even have 10 pound varivas on my BFS rig and have horsed some bass out of heavy shit without any dig. 20lb 832 is on my two workhorse rods that have caught my PBs without issue. The only time I have ever encountered line dig is trying to yank a snag off of a log, but that one was entirely my fault/stupidity.
Anyway, just wondering what other folks thought/experiences are
Sort of follow up from my other post. Looking to pair with Levante Perfect pitch to replace my Lew's SP. My main gripe with the SP is line capacity, which is intentional design, but it would be better suited on my flipping rod, and I would sell the basspro reel currently on that.
Anyway I think I'm ready to try my first Daiwa reel and get one of these from Digitaka. The HD seems like overkill, but I've read concerns about the gears in the JDM SV vs US. Are those concerns legit? I fish in a lot of thick vegetation, but have never had any problems pulling fish out with my lighter duty rigs(curado 150mgl or SLX DC XT for example). Not looking for a huge jump in line capacity, as anything os netter than the shallow spool on the SP.
Recently bought a perfect pitch, and it's absolutely blown me away with how versatile it is. Originally bought for small glides, and some bottom contact, but quickly realized its a fantastic all around rod for my heavier stuff. I've specifically enjoyed it for frogging.
I currently have a Lew's SP on it, which I love, but spool capacity does become an issue with thicker line and baits I want to launch.
Anyway, give me your recommendations for a reel that will handle thick vegetation, good for frogging, and will cast a mile! Budget is flexible, but $300 is definitely my max. I'm typically partial to shimano, but looking to branch out a bit.
Going out crazy early to beat this gnarly heat. May or may not have accidentally bought another levante(perfect pitch) and found a couple abstracts while I was at it.
Looking for not super heavy flipping stick(mostly 1ish ounce jigs) that can also throw some lighter(1-1.5oz) glides, and maybe some heavier moving baits. I have 2 levantes and love them, but I can get a good deal locally on the curado. Anyone have experience with both can give me some insight?
Will pair with a Lew's SP and/or a Curado 150mgl. Tired of having just one heavy setup(Basspro Platinum).
Going out solo for the first time this year in my 12ft aluminum v hull. Transom is all rotted and I haven't bothered fixing yet, because I prefer the TM up front anyway(on no gas ponds as well). Usually I have someone with me in the back, but even still with the batter/TM and my fatass the boat is definitely front heavy. The cable on the motor doesnt reach enough to move the battery back enough.

Thinking about tossing a cinder block or two in the back to balance out. Bad idea or am I overthinking?
Trying to pick a handful of set-ups/techniques each weekend and stick to it! What's your weekend "quiver" look like?

L-R
-Johnny morris platinum heavy with Lew's SP for flipping jigs
-Medium/moderate Shimano Zodias with Curado MGL for popmax or other treble baits
-Megabass Levante Whipsnake with Shimano Stradic for some wacky/neko(got some geecrack g-crazies not pictured)
-Megabass Levante Diablo Spec R with JDM SLX DC XT for weightless t-rigs(senkos mostly)
-MH St. Croix premier with Johnny Morris Carbonlite reel for some frogging!
For me it's black iced coffee(darker the roast the better), and as I think about it, it was probably my go to even when I did drink(1.5 years no booze).

For me the cold bite of the gnarliest roast I can find hits the spot just right. Hot coffee doesn't do it, and so many other non alcoholic drinks are too sweet to go with a cigar. I did have a couple Mocktails the other night at a restaurant and thought they'd go perfect isth a cogar, but no way I'd ever be able to recreate at home!

Anyway, what do you guys like and why?

Recently got back into cigars after sometime. Back in college we were deep into it, and we had an awesome cigar shop down the road from us. The owner was great and would hang out with us, talk about cigars, and even occasionally let us try new and expensive stuff on the house. After college good cigars became limited to if someone offered one.

Fast forward 15 years and my buddy hands me half a dozen perdomos for moving a couch kicking off my renewed love of cigars. Unfortunately the folks at the shop don't seem too interested in anything other than lutching their overpriced house brand, and the rest of their selection is also overpriced so I've taken to cigar page. Figured I'd taken to reddit for some suggestions since that selection is obviously.

I've pretty much stuck to Oliva and Perdomo as it's what's most familiar to me. My favorites lately have been Oliva serie v melanio maduro, and Perdomo 20th anniversary, and I prefer robusto. With that in mind, what should I add to my next order?
I'm talking recreationally, spending the day tearing into smallies.

Sure, hunting for lunkers is plenty fun, but outside of my PB's, all of my favorite fishing memories have been trips where I was laying into smallmouth.

Maybe it's because in my neck of the woods(northeast) largemouth average like 2lbs, but anyone else prefer smallmouth fishing?
Second summer with a jon boat. I've been doing pretty well picking apart banks/cover, but recognize the time is likely going to come when they move offshore a bit. Currently fishing without as much as a depth finder. Eventually I'll get something, but the next priority is figuring out a way to mount a pedal drive TM to the front(and then will mount something next to it) as I'm not bothering with a gas motor.
Anyway, for right now I have google earth and navionics. Last year i devoted to learning the shallows in my ponds(pretty successfully) so now I'd like to figure out the rest of them.
Won a Shimano Stradic 2500 in a whatnot giveaway so figured what better time to dive into megabass with a Levante Whipsnake.
I liked it so much I decided to also pick up a Levante Diablo Spec R for a Curado 150mgl I had that needed a home! Still getting used to the shorter handle compared to my 7'2 medium zodias, but otherwise It's an excellent compliment to it!
I think I still give the zodias line a slight edge over the levante line, but the price increase on the shimano end is too much to justify a zodias over a levante at this point...
Looking to add a MH glass rod to the arsenal. Never owned a glass rod, and will be throwing cranks, chatters, and maybe some spinners. I'd prefer something on the softer end of MH. Kinda looking sor something between my medium zodias and my MH st. Croix premier of that makes any sense?
Or am I better off skipping the glass rod and go with plan A of getting a Levante Flatside or Diablo.
I love using nice casting gear for all sorts of techniques. Skipping, pitching, working a frog, covering tons of water with moving baits, glide baits. All so much more fun to me on casting gear, but once you hook that fish there's nothing like fighting a fish on medium/medium light spinning gear. Idk if it's the ergonomics of it, or the sound of peeling drag, but the fights are just so much more enjoyable than just winching a fish in!
Anyone else feel the same?
