Mova p10 pro ultra acting strange suddenly!
Disregard the disgusting floor, we have great danes and a ton of rain lately! Anyway I tried to begin a vacuum then mop session and received an error saying robot couldn’t not get a location. Found it just doing a little back and forth semi circle dance about 5 feet from the base. I put it back in the base and watched it try and begin again and instead of driving forward it immediately turns to its right like it wants to exit out the back of the base. Picked it up and instead of realizing the wheels were off the ground 1 wheel just kept spinning. Went through all of the trouble shooting steps I could find online and mova’s website including factory resets 2 times and it still wants to do this. I’m still under warranty so have contacted mova but was curious in the meantime if anyone has experienced this and know a fix before I go through the hassle of swapping this thing out.
POV: When I'm not home, my Robovac captures my boy at the exact moment I walk back in
Ever since I got a robot vacuum, I've been obsessed with using the pet-finding mode just to check what my boy is up to at home 😂 Vacuuming and mopping honestly feel like a bonus at this point 😂
Roborock: Don't get your mop wet.
I've had my Roborock Qrevo S for almost 2 years. Bought direct from Roborock (per this subs recommendation) and even bought the extended warranty through them. Good thing I did because this thing spontaneously breaks apart as if it's designed to. What's the old saying? "Rapid unplanned disassembly"?
In the two years I've owned it, I've had the plastic dock break apart twice. I've had the cover that holds in the roller break twice. The guiding wheel has broken. the internal arm that holds the mops has broken. I've had to ship it to support 3 times. The last time they "fixed it" they shipped it back even more broken than I sent it to them.
This time they gave up and said they were sending me a different, refurbished unit and sent me a strongly worded recommendation to not let it go anywhere it can get wet...
It's a mop. Getting the things wet is like half it's job.
Oh and that extended warranty I bought? Yeah they're no longer going to honor it on the replacement unit. Cause screw you, that's why.
Save yourself some drama and buy a robot literally from anyone other than these bozos. How's Eufy looking these days?
Is having an internal water tank a deal breaker?
Hey everyone
I'm looking at getting the jonr 20 pro. However it lacks an internal water tank and also hot water cleaning of the mop.
Are either of these deal breakers?
Thanks
Robot vacuum for £200-£300
i just need a robot vacuum to love and to cherish for the rest of my life. I don't need it to mop, just a hearty companion to collect dust on carpet and hardwood.
basically just want one that will last and is like reallllly good at vacuuming. any solid recommendations? (UK)
(first reddit post btw absolutely terrified)
Before I buy it - is there any better vacuums for heavy dog hair and all wooden floors?
I’ve been looking into getting a robot vacuum for a while not and this one seems to have promising reviews from people with heavy dog hair (Corgi) in their homes. For reference, I have a 1200 sqft apartment that is all wooden flooring and tiling. There are a lot of corners and furniture so I’ll need something that can get into the grooves of things but not get clogged easily due to dog hair clumps.
How much work does a robot vacuum actually save you?
My partner and I both work full time, so cleaning often gets pushed to the weekend. After a long day, neither of us really wants to vacuum or mop.
We don’t have pets right now, but dust, crumbs, and hair still seem to show up everywhere. I used to think robot vacuums wouldn’t help much since they can’t reach every corner, meaning I’d still have to clean most things myself. But I’m starting to wonder if the biggest benefit is just preventing small messes from building up.
For people who have owned one for a while, did it actually make your home easier to maintain? How much cleaning do you still do?
What't the most random thing your robot vacuum has tried to swallow?
Ever since I got a pet, my robot vacuum seems to face a new challenge almost every day. Most days it's nothing crazy, just snack crumbs and bits of rice my kid drops. But yesterday, things got a little messy. I took my dog out for a walk in the rain, and he came back with muddy paws, leaving a trail of footprints on the floor. I sent my Deebot X12 in to clean it up, and it cleaned everything up nicely. Still, I think that was probably the grossest 'meal' it has ever had.
What's the strangest or grossest thing your robot vacuum has ever 'eaten'? Pet hair, leftover food, spilled drinks, or something way worse?
Share which robot you have and your cleaning schedule
I have just got my first robot (Eufy e25). I am wondering what robot you have and how frequently you schedule cleaning.
I live in a 2 bed apartment in London, with 2 of us living here and work from home full time, but no pets or kids. Not sure if daily is overkill!
Stuck between Dreame, Roborock and Narwal
I'm looking for a robot vacumm around $800. Most of the house is hard flooring and we don't have pets, so there are the three things I care about the most:
Edge cleaning: The open areas aren't a problem. It's the kitchen cabinets, baseboards, corners and around the dining chairs that annoy me. I don't want the robot to finish a run and still leave a line of dust or crumbs around the edges that I have to go back over myself
Less stuff to deal with: I'd like a dock that empties the dust bin, washes and dries the mops and refills the robot. I'm fine doing some maintenance, I just don't want to be dealing with the bin and mop pads after every run.
Obstacle avoidance: We have a lot of dining chairs, plus the occasional cord or small thing left on the floor. I want something that can get around those without getting stuck, but not one that's so cautious it stays way back from chair legs and cabinets and leaves a bunch of spots untouched. I also don't want a robot I have to babysit every time it runs.
I've narrowed it down to:
Dreame x50 Ultra
Roborock Qrevo Curv
Roborock Qrevo Curv S5X
Narwal Flow
I can stretch the budget a little if spending more means less touching up afterword and less maintenance. Has anyone used any of these for a while?
A catastrophic incident with poop and robot vacuum
Me and my partner have 2 elderly cats and a robot vacuum. We both work from home and we do like our space as clean as possible, so, our robot vacuum is scheduled to do 3 cleaning rounds a day. One in the early morning, on in the noon, one at night. We do take good care of our robot vacuum, clean it very often etc.
One of our cats apparently failed to reach the litterbox and had an accident today. A gigantic, juicy cat poop, right outside the litterbox… I had an early work meeting. I woke up and started working immediately, so, i didn’t see the accident nor realized the incoming catastrophy…
After i was done with work, I went to the kitchen to make some coffee. Robot vacuum was doing its scheduled morning cleaning. It was finished with the litter box area, which is on one end of the hall, and was just finishing up the rest of the hall. Right when i went past it, the smell hit me. The sharp smell of… poop.
I tried telling myself maybe the cats just recently pooped and forgot to cover up but oh no… The smell was pungent, it was everywhere. I picked the robot vacuum up, turned it upside down, and…
Poop.
Everywhere.
Every single nook and crannie was filled with poop. The mop, the screw holes, brushes, the wheels, everywhere…
Then i went to the hall to check the damage.
All of our hardwood floors, covered in poop stains.
I don’t know how i managed to not cry. I’ve been trying to clean with any and all the supplies i have at home. Robot still has poop in many holes. Floors look clean but who knows. I dont know how to disinfect the robot or the floors completely. I dont know if we should throw the vacuum away and move out.
Take this as a warning guys, if you have older pets who are prone to accidents… Dont let your robot vacuum to do unsupervised cleanings. Just… be careful.
Poop gets everywhere.
3rd day of deep cleaning and it left visible streaks
I just bought the Eufy C28 omni. It's great. I love it so far. I ran the deep clean mode each day for 2 days to make sure it gets everything.
On the 3rd day, I wanted to deep clean out living room as we had some contractors walk around in their shoes. But this time, the Eufy left streaks that I haven't seen before in the previous days.
Any thoughts on why this happened?
Ecovacs debot Y1 Pro robot won’t clean or charge
Hi everyone, my Ecovacs deebot y1 pro has suddenly stopped working properly. I can’t turn it on and it won’t start cleaning either. Basically the physical buttons are not glowing and not working at all.
When I place it on the charging dock, it plays the startup music, but the app doesn’t show that it’s charging the battery is permanently stuck at 50%. All led indicators are off(even wifi). It responds with a sound when I change the vacuum modes in my mobile app, but it doesn’t move or start cleaning. If i press "end cleaning" it responds the same but "start cleaning" does nothing. If i remove from the robot from the dock then the mobile app disconnects in 2 minutes.
Previously I have noticed battery discharging faster than usual but I am not sure if this battery issue or not. And I purchased the model exactly 1 yr back, so it fairly new.
Has anyone experienced this before or found a solution? Could it be a battery, charging dock, or motherboard issue?
I contacted Ecovacs, but seems their after-sales support is dog shit and I haven’t received any response even after two days. Any suggestions on which other robot vacuum brands offer reliable products and service in India? I am thinking to buy a new one.
Do not buy Tineco products from Amazon *Warning*
Hi,
I want to shoutout an FYI.
I have bought 3 Tineco Stretch S6 Vacuum mops and all three were used. One was stinking because someone had left the used roller in. The second was badly packed with the Tineco solution half used, and the third had no Tineco solution or cleaning brush at all. I have escalated all the cases to Amazon and they confirmed they will be (destroying/ something to that extent) all the return stock they have. All the Tineco products also have warning for high returns on Amazon.
I have the third Tineco unit with me and am expected to return it to Amazon tomorrow.
However I do note that the warnings on some products are gone for some product listings. I guess this is why Tineco has multiple listings of the same products on Amazon.
- Budget - $299 - 479 CAD. I purchased it at $299
- Flooring types & other cleaning needs - Hard floors
- Stores that sell vacuums in Canada - Walmart and Canada
What brands have the best after sales support?
At this point, most robot vacuums look more or less the same to me. I'm more interested in which brands stand behind their products. My last two robots both died early, and their customer support was quite sketchy. I'd rather pay for something with reliable service than deal with that again.
Any brands you'd recommend based on customer support or warranty experience?
TIA!
SharkNinja - NEVER AGAIN!!!
After my recent encounter with SharkNinja's support I will NEVER buy another one of their products.
Two weeks ago my Shark robot entered a room I had marked as a No-Go area in the app. It had gone in there before, but I figured if I updated the details, and pushed it to the vacuum, it would follow the instructions. My older cat doesn't always make it to the box, hence why I don't want the robot going in. Inevitably the robot entered and made a mess in three rooms. I took pictures and went on to the Shark App. The chatbot didn't understand my multiple attempts at answering "Are you in the UK or the US/Canada?" Despite changing US to USA to United states etc..the chatbot wouldn't let me pass beyond that query.
I then reached out to support via email. I received 3 automatic emails, one of which asking for details on my machine and the situation. I provided numerous pictures along with a more detailed account than this. The customer rep responded quickly by asking for the photos I had already provided. Another back and forth led to (paraphrased) "Sorry, your machine is out of warranty. Here is 30% off a new machine." No detailed questions, no actual response...just canned crap.
Why would I buy a new machine if this is the expectation of the service life and experience of the end user?
TLDR- Robot ate cat poop in a room it wasn't supposed to go. Support response was worst I have ever encountered.
WARNING: Roborock Qrevo Curve Defect & Warranty Refusal (BBB Case Unresolved)
I am writing this to warn consumers about both the Roborock Qrevo Curve robot vacuum and the company’s customer support practices. I spent $933.94 on this high-end machine expecting a premium experience, but it has turned out to be an overpriced failure backed by dishonest business practices.
Regarding the product performance, the vacuum completely fails at its advertised features. It was sold as having self-emptying capabilities for pet hair and special chassis-lifting technology for high thresholds. In reality, the self-empty port is poorly designed and clogs with pet hair every single time, leaving the internal bin empty while jamming the narrow suction channel. Because of these constant clogs, I cannot run the vacuum on an automated schedule, and am constantly emptying both the port and dustbin by hand. The threshold feature is equally useless because the software logic is delayed, causing the robot to drive up to standard one-inch transitions, hesitate, and get completely stuck. The overall vacuuming power is subpar, scattering light debris and leaving pet hair behind on carpets.
The company’s service and warranty practices are even worse than the product itself. When the machine degraded after a few months of use, I went through weeks of tedious troubleshooting steps requested by their support team, including sending videos and cleaning sensors. Their own technicians never identified a single broken physical part. Despite the unit being well within its one-year limited warranty, Roborock flatly refuses to issue a refund. They repeatedly cite a scripted internal policy claiming that refunds are capped at thirty days.
I cited their written one-year warranty contract back to them, which explicitly lists a refund as a valid legal remedy alongside repair or replacement. Nowhere in their legal terms does it state that the refund option expires after thirty days while the rest of the warranty stays active. They refuse to honor their own written terms and insist on forcing me into a repair-depot shipping loop for a machine that suffers from fundamental engineering and software flaws rather than a broken part.
When I filed a formal dispute with the Better Business Bureau and quoted their contract line-by-line, Roborock completely stopped responding. The BBB officially closed my case as unresolved due to the company failing to participate, leaving a permanent negative mark on their business profile. I have now escalated this matter to the State Attorney General regarding their warranty practices, and Roborock is still refusing a refund. This company takes your money and refuses to honor their contracts once things go wrong. Avoid this product and this company entirely.
Is this dream overkill for my 950sf apartment?
This Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2 was 300 bucks refurbished with a 2 year warranty on ebay. I haven't opened it yet, the package is larger than I anticipated. I have hardwood, a very small kitchen and bathroom, and some rugs. 2 cats, which is why I wanted the thing. Wondering if I made a poor choice?
Matic adds voice and gesture controls to its robot vacuum
Matic has added a feature called Cues that lets users control the vacuum with voice commands and gestures.
The robot can be told to follow someone, return to its dock, clean a specific room, or clean an area being pointed to. Voice commands are supported in 75 languages.
The commands are still based on a defined set of actions and the robot’s existing map of the home, rather than fully open-ended language control.
