Is this dream overkill for my 950sf apartment?

This Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2 was 300 bucks refurbished with a 2 year warranty on ebay. I haven't opened it yet, the package is larger than I anticipated. I have hardwood, a very small kitchen and bathroom, and some rugs. 2 cats, which is why I wanted the thing. Wondering if I made a poor choice?

Spokane is amazing!

I woke up as a newcomer here Saturday morning. Took a picture of a smoke plume building as I went into Costco, came out and there were what looked like 3 plumes in 3 different directions. Despite the enormity of the situation, and the alacrity of the air, what has blown me away has been the kind and welcoming people in the few days I have been here. I have heard "welcome to.." more times in the past few days than in any city, state or country I've moved to. And it's been backed up with sincere acts of kindness from strangers. Not transactional, just kindness for the sake of kindness! This community is truly special and I am so happy to be here. Cherish one another and this special place, the people and sense of camaraderie among strangers is magical and something the world needs now more than ever!

How to find neighborhood walking groups?

Moving to Spokane and don't know anyone. How would I go about finding a small group of neighborhood walkers to join for in town walks? Joined a hiking group, but more interested in meeting up with small group of preferably female walkers in medical district for daily walks I wouldn't have to drive to. Maybe a weird question, but I am an outgoing and social person with very location specific agoraphobia, usually tied to where I'm living, due to past traumatic experience, trying to break that pattern.

New grad orientation what to wear?

Can anyone please share what people wore to first new employee orientation? Written instructions are business casual in the morning at one location, then travel to respective unit locations to meet management. I sought clarification and sounded like permissible to wear scrubs in morning but uncertain about scrubs on unit ("might want to wear business casual if not going to floor" well i dont know where im going!), so now I'm totally confused and having high anxiety about it. The department allows any color scrubs if professional looking. TIA

Bathroom refuge advice

Rented this apartment (toilet will be put back) and need help to pick a shower curtain and runner color. The walls are grey and they are replacing flooring with the same but new. I'm thinking a tree fern in corner, a luxurious comforting 5.5-6' runner, and a linen curtain. This will be my quiet bath refuge after 13 hour shifts in the Emergency department. Need color/product recommendations! I like a muted terra cotta runner with maybe a sage curtain? All the color combos I come up with seem great till I look for products. Thanks for any guidance!

Hourly movers?

I am moving with no furniture and wondering if there are recommended movers to help me if I buy furniture on facebook/thrift stores? I don't have a truck and can't risk carrying stuff that is too heavy for me, otherwise would just get a small hourly uhaul. Also is Facebook my best bet for inexpensive sofas if I can't afford retail?

How are you brewing White Blizzard coffee?

Just tried it for the first time in Spokane, mind blown, ran out and bought some. How are you brewing this at home? Do I need to buy a french press?

To everyone who shared experience and advice...

Especially about neighborhoods and property management companies, etc. ad nauseum, THANK YOU! Black Realty Management saved the day and my apartment hunting odessey has ended! I got everything I was looking for, for less $$$ than I expected. There are a lot of interesting rentals languishing due to the ineptitude of some rental companies; the input of Spokane redditors has been spot on. I got to learn about local murders that happened at 2 of the properties I viewed (of course not from the property managers), enjoy some great food and taste my first cup of white bean coffee! Spokane is going to be a grand adventure!

What is the one $-$$ restaurant not to miss (open Mondays)

Looking for dinner for 2, we are here for 2 more dinners, Queen of Sheba and Feast are closed, any great cheap eats we shouldn't miss? Otherwise we default to pizza and we can get that at home. We blew our Indian food night on the wrong restaurant. Thai and Ethiopian top the list. We no longer trust Google for Spokane recommendations. TIA!

For new grads who moved for residency

I am moving to a city/state I've never lived in for a new grad residency. For others who have done this, did you sign a lease right away or did you do short term housing to get a feel for the area? I am torn between renting for the short term in a building I love but it's on the higher end of my budget (even a bit over, it would roll over and I could stay if I love it, which is what I'm afraid of 😜) OR just signing a lease so I can focus on the residency for the first year. I am visiting the town for a couple days to view apartments. Also, what have been your experiences living walking distance to hospital vs short commute? I guess what I'm asking is whether the convenience of walking to work is more important or will I feel like getting as far from there as possible after my 12 hour shifts?

Trail and Bluff N of Polly Judd park, safe area?

Is the area along the bluff north of Polly Judd park considered safe? I'm new here and wondering if in exchange for amazing trail access and views I would be giving up some safety as a woman hiking alone or just living so close to trail/freeway/railroad. Thank you sincerely for any feedback.

Are you about to give notice on a great apartment?

I am visiting for a couple days next week to view apartments near the hospitals, Browne's Addition, Lower South Hill, and Cliff Cannon. If you are about to give notice and you have a peaceful, functional and clean unit for one quiet person, I would love to hear about it! I am moving 8/1 for a 8/10 start date. I am an ideal tenant on paper and in person. Will consider a lease takeover!

Current residents at Culmstock Arms or Altadena Apartments?

I am looking at renting an apartment and these 2 buildings caught my eye. I am trying to get more feedback, after finding a comment about bedbugs in "the building" from about 2 years ago. I have not lived in an apartment building in a long time. Is a building wide infestation an actual thing? Like I could move into an empty apartment and get bedbugs? If anyone has lived in either building or knows if I need to be concerned about getting bedbugs from an empty apartment or how not to I would be grateful!

Safe neighborhoods near downtown hospitals?

As a nurse would you feel safe walking home in the immediate area of downtown hospitals? Lower South Hill? Looking for guidance on whether to find housing based on driving or walking to work, whether to store car and just walk or drive to and from a more distant location. Have read conflicting advice and trying to prioritize where to look for a studio. Thanks!
